These guys have the same problem that the 2014 football team had.
They are soft, and not willing to do what it takes to actually beat an opponent. They think they can just bomb away from outside, and "sooner or later" the shots will fall.
Meanwhile, teams that believe in rebounding, and playing defense, smack the snot out of them.
They're a bunch of girly-boys who think they can "pretty" their way to wins. Its shameful. Grow a set and play big boy basketball. Stop the stupid crap. MSU and Izzo are laughing their posteriors off over your weak effort. They thank you for the wins. In your own building no less.
Shameful.
I'm serious. You don't let your biggest rivals come in and dominate your home floor. You don't do that if you're serious about basketball. If you MUST LOSE, you play them tough the entire game and make them expend every ounce of energy to eek out their win. You don't hand them a 20 point walkover.
Pathetic.I don't always roll a joint, but when I do, its usually my ankle

That says it all -- we've got a tournament quality team, our hated rival comes in here after punking us in our last home meeting with them, and yet, still, most of us expected a repeat performance. That tells you hell of a lot about John Beilein.

Michigan is #54 is Jay Bilas' top 68.
54. Michigan Wolverines
The Wolverines were playing well and seemed confident, even without injured Caris LeVert, but were drilled by both Indiana and Michigan State in Ann Arbor. Michigan can score but cannot protect the paint, giving up more than 55 percent shooting from inside the arc.
Tonight's game at Minnesota is significant based on the opponents coming up (vs Purdue, at Ohio State, at Maryland, at Wisconsin, vs Iowa).
Minnesota has lost 12 games in a row. Don't lose to that team, Michigan.AAL 2023 - Alim McNeill

this team has reached its ceiling with Coach B.
I have been shouted down every time, but I will say again:
1. Not as a good recruiter as he should be given what he has to sell
2. Our teams are soft/finesse oriented --- a reflection of their coach
3. Rebounding and D are after thoughts.
On the plus side, honorable/honest man --- something the program sorely needed. Great offensive mind, great at identifying and developing ascending talent of the offensive side of the ball.
We could always end up with someone worse, but I wish Warde Manuel would consider and upgrade --- don't think its going to happen though.

I'm not a basketball fan and only observe this M sport as it affects the front porch of athletics through which Michigan is viewed nationally. So, it's disconcerting that M continues to be coached by a nice guy who appears to me to lack the coaching and recruiting skills to make M basketball a force on the national scene.
But I agree with PB and I know of Warde Manuel well enough to know it would be a big surprise if he went looking for a stronger candidate to coach M basketball. The risk reward equation for Manuel is going to favor sticking with what he's got.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.
