  • That was a suprisingly awful final possession. I mean -- to be clear -- Ohio State had a missed dunk, missed layup, and 3 straight turnovers in the final 4 minutes -- so, you know, in terms of really shitty possessions, Ohio State was dominant. But, man, down by 1 -- and you run that shit? I'm just going to spitball this -- but I might have run the final possession through Dickenson. Further, I would have gone earlier because there was almost no way OSU was going to score. So what if you leave 6 seconds?

Eh, whatever. Fucking Illinois is going to win the BTT.

    • Michigan will be a # 2 seed. Particularly with Livers out.

      • I’m not sure who has the resume to pass them, tho. Maybe if Iowa wins the BTT but Illinois is gonna curb stomp them.

At any rate, we’ll be lucky to make the S16.

This is actually possible despite what people will say. The committee DOES take into account injuries. ... or at least has in the past.

          A recent example:
2017 Oregon. Remember the Oregon team that beat M in the tourney a few years ago? They made the Final 4. Oregon was ranked #5 in the AP polls entering the PAC12 tourney. One of their good core players, Chris Boucher, suffered a season ending injury in the PAC12 tourney. Despite being ranked #5, the committee dropped them to a 3 seed in the NCAA tourney.

So yes, M could drop to a 2 seed despite having a 1 seed resume. Sucks.

Specifically, Michigan is now 1-7 vs OSU in the BTT.

            • Archie Miller fired. Seems like he just got there but it's been 4 years and zero tournament spots.

              • I remember when IU beat OSU to the punch to nab Arch and Ohio State was left with The Holt Mann.

                • Heh I almost mentioned something about Pitino Jr and it looks like he may be on the way out too

I like how this article from the Indy newspaper is like "this is not an exhaustive list" of candidates, then names about 25 people

                  • Indiana is pretty much the M Football of college basketball. They were once a brand name and probably still are. They certainly have a devoted following. But, their ability to compete is declining and it has almost everything to do with recruiting.

                    • Doing as well as Purdue has under Painter ought to be a reasonable goal for them. Can't feel great that the Boilers have pretty much been the better program for the past 15 years and on top of that Illinois may be emerging from hibernation too

                      • I would say the Tennessee of college basketball, I think Michigan football is a little more relevant than. IU basketball. But that is probably splitting hairs.

                        • Yes, but without splitting hairs it's just one STFU after another. However, to split hairs -- I prefer M as it's two-pronged sass. I mean, if we actually had a Hoosier fan here. Sassing the Vals gets me nothing. Know your audience dude.

                          • That's true

It's weird that when Knight was there nobody ever argued that once he was gone the success was going to go away but here we are 25 years later and they are pretty irrelevant.

                            • Hear me out: Indiana hoops is Nebraska football. A once proud corn-flavored roid kingdom with the Huskers is now nothing but a smoldering crater where a program used to be and Indiana is so bad that they have reached out to Gene Hackman to take over coaching duties.

Never miss out on Wiz sass.

                              • I mean, I applaud the sentiment. But, even as bad as IU hoops is, it just ain't right to compare them to the Huskerz.
