I just like the potential matchup. Zags ain't played anyone and we've been battle tested. Their best offensive player could be guarded by our best defensive player.
I just forgot what you were replying to and so read upthread a post, and, well, I'm just here to say that I am shocked that I just called Morgan our best defender, but good on him. He's earned it. Pretty easy to be less frustrated with his limitations now that we've seen life without him.
That said, JB HAS to figure something else out on defending pick n rolls. There's no reason on every single hedge the guy at top finds a wide open big under the basket while our big is recovering. Stop hedging if we can't rotate and take that away. The whole point of a hedge is to ensure the guy can't make that pass.
Kansas just got its clock cleaned by Baylor. New Mexico also lost, which will hurt their seeding. Probably good news for Michigan's chances of getting a #2 seed
New Mexico was being viewed as a 2 seed? In what world?
Either doook or IU will get the #1 overall, I would guess. I think Michigan can still get a 1-seed if they win from now until the announcements go out.
If they win today and win a game in the B1G, that should be enough to lock down a 2-seed.
I agree about the Zags. They are 2-2 against top 25 quality teams. That's it. I guess their signature win is versus K-State.
Hopefully, St. Mary's upsets them today and kicks them down to the 3 seed they probably should be.
There's precedent for 3 teams from one conference as #1 seeds. I don't think that's going to happen this year, but pretty clear IMO that Michigan, Indiana and MSU cannot be lower than #2 no matter what from this point on if the selection committee does its job right. OSU and Wisconsin no lower than #3 or #4 and arguably with good tournament showings should have a case for #2.
