  • MSU doesn't have any bad losses.

Michigan has 2 bad losses (to Northwestern (on road) and LSU (at neutral site)), so MSU has advantage in that respect.

Purdue also has 2 bad losses (W. Kentucky and Wisconsin).

    • Both Ms losses are quadrant 2. They're not "bad losses".

      • The quadrants is a retarded metric. I would say that I hope that they ditch it for next year but they would probably replace it with something worse.

And technically a dumb label since rankings are one dimensional and there are no "quadrants".

        • Much maligned RPI now has Michigan 13, ahead of Michigan State at 15. Purdue is 10 and OSU 21.

          • I want the 3 seed -- make game 1 as easy as possible since the rust will probably be evident.

            • Think the rust thing is overrated. Also we need Livers and this break will be huge in that regard.

              • Wish we'd have scheduled a cupcake for next weekend, but I'm sure the coaches have thought more about the pros/cons of that than I have.

                • Strikes me that usually the major-conference bubble teams are an 11 seed and not lower. Seeds 1 through 4 get the small-school champions, who are much less likely to be the dangerous kinds of teams that we and Ok St were last year. I think we'll get a favorable first-round matchup, and as a 3 or 4 seed there's nobody I'd be scared of in the second round either. Where it makes a difference is 16s. Would so much rather face the 2 seed than the 1, unless it's Xavier. They're a pretty damn good team -- saw them live last week at G'town -- but nothing to be scared of.

You have thought about it for a few seconds. Therefore, you have thought about it more than them, most likely.

                      • M is 9th - 12th in Kenpom and similar metrics, a 3 seed for the moment and a 3rd seed in bracketology... I want a 3 seed over a 4 to face the 1 seed later if at all...

                        • nobody is scary this year. an 8 or 9 seed maybe two will pummel a 1 seed

the 7-10 seeds who are from the big 6 conferences are going to wreak havoc this year

I can see 1/2 the 1 and 2 seeds not surviving the first weekend

                          • 3 seed would be fantastic. Only thing that scares me is a tight game with the FT shooting.

                            • My guess for B1G...

                              Purdue (2)
                              Michigan (3)
                              MSU (4)
                              OSU (6)
