I'll tell you what, if Kelly does take that 2nd interview in Philly and/or interviews with the Bears, then I think ND needs to take some action. Perhaps going as far as firing him. Perhaps flying down to Louisville and meeting with Charlie Strong.
There is a difference between allowing for career progression and being a stepping stone...

Another update from source #1. Don't know that I'd call it an update...more like message board therapy...I don't think he says anything. Nonetheless...
"Yes. We all apparently picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue, or something like that. Maybe I picked the wrong week to return. Don't know.
I do know, as way of a simple though likely unattainable request amidst the panic, paranoia and anger (not judging anyone accordingly), that we should TRY to let things play out, as they will, and wait for something tangible and meaningful to actually happen before we fully assess and ascribe blame or kudos or whatever may be. I don't consider the AA decommit to fall within this classification.
We will know something as soon as possible, I believe, and hopefully within a reasonably short period of time around the weekend, I suspect. Nothing more we can do but wait and see. I'm confident things will work out okay for ND and, emotions aside, that all relationships and so on will be just fine moving forward for those handling things professionally and with reason and understanding. At least I hope so! If not, seems there are enough lawyers among this lot to sue me, or something.
Long term, I do believe ND will be fine. Now, let's see what happens."

Otherwise, he has to work to find a working arrangement with Swarbrick and his staff...and that's about it.
He is an egomaniac, this much we know.
Are there terms in his contract about interviews with other programs, pro or college? I doubt this would be an easy firing for anything like that. Still, what a butt head.

HOLY SHIT...SOMEBODY ACTUALLY READS THE CRAP I WRITE?
It was a year ago. He did ask and receive a lighter load of alumni photo mixers and press obligations, supposedly so he could spend more time with his players.
At the negotiating table, that might work better for Kelly than for ND. He can point to it and say "Look, I know how to run a program. Give me more say and stay out of my way".

...... this is what happens when formerly good sources who seem to have quality stuff get stonewalled. They dribble verbal diarrhea.
Fact of the matter is, it does not take long for grad students hired by the ADs to sniff stuff out figure out who's leaking tidbits on the internet boards. Would not doubt there are plenty of folks out there getting a few bucks to keep track of places like this. I'm pretty sure Brandon does it. Swarbrick too.
