Not really...I've been here for almost 15 years.

Figured you'd be happy...certainly Pitt covered the spread and you may have picked up a couple bucks...assuming you still had some credit following your losses last week.

    • The ND arrogance is back and in full force; how I missed it so.

Congrats on joining the elite company along with Youngstown State and Syracuse. Didn't take them OT to beat Pitt, though.

        • Ad noted, I bet Oregon team total huge. But thanks for your concern. And your hugely ironic assertion that ZERO ND fans care about M.

But, I understand. After that game, you're defensive. Par for the course.

Eh, whatever. ND goes back to being ND next season, which is fine by me.

Hugely ironic? You're the guy who has (correctly) called ND shit for over a decade, yet now has acts cynical...and I'm being quite deliberate in my selection of language here "acts" cynical when dismissing ND when contrasted with Alabama.

Anyway, nice thing about the internet...it's all on record. Pick the ND homer forum and show me all the posts from ND fans discussing the Michigan game. I'm a member of three and didn't see any discussion (s).

Again, I'm not defending ND's performance today...but I'm still happy to be 9-0 for the first time in 19 years.

            • This will get ugly...and I'm not going to spend my whole night in a pissing match with you guys. There is a bottom line here, and it's quite simple.

All you got is that ND needed some luck and some breaks to get to 9-0 against one of the top ten toughest schedules in the nation. I'm good with that.

              • Don't flatter yourself and your overrated team. I comment on several games each Saturday, so don't mistake it for some horseshit Irish envy.

You beat Purdue and BYU by a FG, was the recipient of a gift against Stanford in OT, and another gift today (again, in OT) against a dreadful Pitt team.

Oh, and a dominating 7-point beatdown against our boys, "forcing" 7 TOs.

All of those games in South Bend to boot.

That's Top 3 material in my book; congrats.

                  • ND is undefeated, no doubt. It is hugely ironic, and in poor form, to come to M forum and post about how ND fans, presumably including you, don't care about M. You're plenty smart enough to get that.

I dislike a lot of teams. ND is certainly on that list. I wouldn't ever feign indifference when it comes to ND, USC, most SEC schools, M and others. But that's me. You can feign indifference all you like, but it is.fooling no one. Especially when done on a M forum.

Sounds like you did a quick scan of ND boards looking for some inking of interest in UM games and couldn't find anything...

Perhaps you're not feigning indifference...but you're certainly feigning a basis of comparison. As you well know, I can rightfully call both South Bend and Ann Arbor my hometown. My mother lives within walking distance of the big house and is still a season ticket holder. Your attempts to hold me to the standard of just another ND fan are feigned. Whether it be love or hate or something in-between, I very much have a personal vested interest in the Michigan program.

I can also tell you that B1G fans watch and discuss ND a hell of alot more than ND fans discuss the B1G.

                      • If true, rather confirms the worst stereotypes about ND fans.

Anyway, feel free to keep telling M fans in a M forum about how zero ND fans care about M.

Good luck against Bama. Talk to you in the lead up to that game. Otherwise, this thread isn't much worth it.

I have yet to see or hear anything on this forum that fails to confirm the worst stereotypes about ND fans...not really my concern.

As far as me coming into a M forum and showing "poor form"...everybody knows the deal here. I keep this thread and that's it. In years of membership, there isn't one single example of me touting or defending Notre Dame by any measure on any thread other than this one. ND bash all you want anywhere on the forum...but if you come here, then I'm going to stand up for my team. You can act (or perhaps you prefer "feign"?) as if that hasn't been the status quo for years now, but your not fooling anybody.

The only real difference is that ND isn't an irrelevant pile of shit this season.

                          • As far as ND fans' indifference toward Michigan, .. I daresay that when a losing Michigan score is announced on the PA in South Bend, that the cheer that goes up would rival that of anything that is heard in Columbus or East Lansing.

I never fool myself when it comes to ND fans. For the most part, they don't like us, and we don't much care for them either. Clashmore is more the exception than the norm.

Recently, I was at a HS football game as a spectator, and I was wearing my Michigan hat. I was approached by a ND fan wearing ND garb. He walks up to me and says, "Hey Michigan fan .. why does Michigan keep expanding their stadium?"... I was a bit stunned by this, so I just said, "Because we can?" He said, "See? .. There's that typical Michigan arrogance again!"... I asked him why he considered my response "arrogant". He said, "Because you guys think you have to be the biggest and best in everything". He kind of had me there, ... so I said, "You know, .. you're right". And just as I was going to walk away, I told him, "You know, .. its okay with us if they expand Notre Dame stadium.... We can share the blueprints with you" ... and I walked away...

ND fans have a right to toot their horn about their team right now. 9-0 is nothing to sneeze at, but I still believe that they are not among the top 5 teams in the country. That's my opinion. I think ND has a very good defense, but a shaky offense. I don't think that will get them anywhere near a MNC. But, because of who they are, they will probably get a shot at the MNC over more deserving teams. That's one of many reasons I don't like ND.

But, I'd tune in to watch Bama v ND. No problem at all.

                            • Neither ND nor osu are as good as their records, but they've won all of the games on their schedules, so maybe they are. The skepticism lies in the fact that they've both won very close games against supposedly inferior teams. What I don't understand, after seeing them play at Oklahoma, is why ND is so lousy at home this season. Heck, a mediocre Michigan team turned the ball over 6 times and only loss by a TD.
I'll let you ban hate speech when you let me define hate speech.

I haven't seen enough of tOSU to comment further, but as far as ND is concerned, I'm pretty much in total agreement.

The difference between how we play at home and on the road is no longer just a side novelty, but a real issue. Biggest discussion topic on the ND boards by far...and terribly perplexing.
