I think its the weekend after Labor Day.

      I will not be attending.

I have a spot reserved for me in front of my TV in my favorite chair.

I will be there along with my son, Sean.

Gates will open around 10 .... but Doug will be there first and have been set up by 7:30A, unless Canada Geo beats him there.

I think Sean and I will have a big, fatty breakfast including buttermilk to prepare ourselves for the day.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

dang .. you're going to make me show up, aren't you?

Well, maybe Doug will let me be the "security guard" for his stuff.

heh .. I probably won't be getting home until 3 am ... the wife will be waiting with divorce papers ...

Liney...would love to shake your hand, but don't risk your marriage. Tickets are near impossible to get. My little brother remains very good friend with Bill Martin's son and can't get anything. The demand is at or near Ohio St. '97. Ton's of wealthy ND alums from the Chicago Alumni club are bitching up a storm that they can't get tix...I've never seen that.

Kelly just announce that Dayne Crist is the starter for South Florida...not sure how I feel about that.

And of course...I look forward to meeting Buchanan and the rest of you. Will be a homecoming of sorts for me, but please let me know if you guys are getting together at a location other than Scio Church.

Mike, they'll definitely be at the Scio Church location. Not sure what time that lot will be opening, but my guess is that it will be fairly early.

I'm not even going to try to get tickets for that. I perused Stub Hub out of curiosity, and their prices are insane. I'm not paying that much for a ticket. I'd rather sit home than pay that much. I still might drop by the tailgate, but I don't know how I feel about paying $20 just to park my car and tailgate. We'll see.

So he's going with Crist, huh? That's probably the best bet for now.

                    • Liney, Like I said, it's something of a homecoming for me. I have a number of high school and college friends that I intend to see. In short, meeting up with you guys is high up on the list...but it's a long list and I won't be able to hang with you all day.

Having said that...if you make the trip for the tailgate, I can personally guarantee you a free parking spot within a couple hundred yards of the Scio Church lot.

                      • As far as the QB thing goes...my personal preference was Rees in-lieu-of Crist. But I'm not sure there is or was a bad choice here. It's been so long that we've had real competition at QB, I feel somewhat spoiled.

Looking at it purely from a mental aspect, I think that losing out would have been alot more devastating to Crist than Rees. Crist was a 4-5 star recruit who could have gone pretty much anywhere, but he committed to ND the year after Jimmy Clausen...pretty ballsy. He's put in his time. Battled through two serious injuries. To lose out now might have been catastrophic for him in terms of attitude...as opposed to Rees, who came in not at all highly touted...is a true Sophomore....and knows that he pushed the incumbent starter to the edge of the envelope. For Rees, not being named starter may be beneficial. He sure as shit isn't about to let up in practice and he knows he's either an injury or couple of picks away from getting on the field.

Honestly...its a nice situation to be in.

I'm crushed right now. Just crushed. I cry for myself, and for Doug. Kicked to the curb by Liney. Dark days indeed.

Heh. You'll be there. Doug and I are making fried chicken. Aw yeahhhh.

                              • Rumors of ND switching non-football sports to the Big 12 sound legit. Legit in that it's in the discussion...not that it's going to happen.
