  • That is correct. It was mentioned during the game last night.

    • And by the end of Hoke/Brandon's tenures, the total wins will be in ND's favor as well.

I HOPE Brandon isn't around long enough for it to happen. With a lead of just 36 in the win column, though, it could happen in a dozen years or less if these three things happen:

              1) Michigan is actually at their ceiling under Hoke, winning 7-8 games yearly vs. tomato cans

              2) Brandon sticks around for a dozen years and remains totally focused on $$$ rather than wins.

              3) ND is actually for real and has a sustained period of prosperity, winning 10-11 games annually.

All it would take is a gain of 3 wins per season over 12 years and the Irish draw even.

              • Isn't Texas now second in total wins?

                • Texas has one more than ND.

Given two new coordinators and the loss of both Tuitt & Niklas (don't think we were planning on losing both), I'm going with nine wins against that schedule. Our DL took a huge hit to graduation, but if there was a flip side to all the injuries this year, it's that we will be returning a bunch of 2nd & 3rd year players with some real field experience and at least two years in a college lifting program. Most of them are three star types, lacking the explosive/sack-machine size and speed combo, but we should be able to rotate bodies very effectively with some depth and stay fairly fresh for four qtrs. Our secondary should be superb as should the OLBs. Some questions at MLB, but we'll see.

                    • Sanders Fan, I appreciate you keeping some life in the place. Overall, it was a disappointing season...but honestly I was less into cfb this year than any in memory.

On a personal note, I had my 14th chemo treatment today. But as can happen, the effectiveness of the chemo is waning. Doctors are looking to mix up a different "cocktail" to keep the cancer on the run. My body is holding up extremely well and we've knocked a hell of alot of the tumors down, but there is still a ways to go. I hadn't missed a day of work through December, but now have missed five days in the last six weeks. It's getting harder and harder to look after myself and balance work full time. Am considering taking a leave of absence to concentrate on me, but am somewhat worried that lack of an occupation will be a drag on me mentally. Will check in when I can to keep you all updated.

                      Hope everyone enjoyed the holidays.

                        • Thanks Hack. I'm nowhere near doubting myself yet. It's odd...even though I'm dealing with more nausea and fatigue than I ever have, I feel younger and more energetic than I have in years.
