        • Thanks for your openness, Marine. I know that is tough.

I'm sure you already know this but I want others to know this too. There are some incredibly effective cancer therapies out there these days. I'm sure you are getting the best care.

          Semper Fi, my friend.

Refresh my memory a bit. What do you want the title of this thread to be? Its yours to name.

            • Sorry to hear that :-(

Mike, I have an old friend who had it. He had a battle, but is now 2 years cancer free.

              • You just have to stay positive, optimistic, hope for the best and most importantly and take care of yourself. It sounds like you already are by your diet.

                • I second/third/sixteenth all the well wishes and positive comments about you, Clash. Get well, and soon. I want you in tip top shape for UFM's first national title at OSU so you can thoroughly enjoy it!

I honestly don’t consider it a complete rip and believe fans of either team can garner a measure of pride from that quote.

Bringing you guys on-board was good luck at the right time. I had a favorable CT scan Friday…my first since the diagnosis. Chemo has stopped all growth at the esophagus, and actually reduced the cancer nodules on the liver. And you infidels who don’t believe in the higher power of luck, still get a feather in your cap. Oncologists from U of M have been working my case since day two…volunteering their time, expertise, research, contacts, etc. I’ve got a ways to go, but it’s a nice boost to know that what we’re doing is working.

Otherwise, I’m touched and very much appreciate the support. I’ll check in as often as I can and keep you all up to date.

                      • Good luck with it, Mike. Sounds like you've got the attitude you're gonna need. You'll beat it for sure like that...

                        • May you announce your remission on Monday, September 9th........reducing the anguish you feel, after watching the Domers get their asses handed to them on the 7th by Michigan.

                          • Heh...I'd rather get the remission notice on 9/5 and then endure a(nother) loss to Michigan. Honestly, if anxiety was a carcinogen (sp?) I'd swear the seeds for this were planted during the under the lights game...still the worst ND experience of my life.

                            Wingsfan,

Does your friend have the initials "J.R." and live in Grosse Pointe? There is a friend of ours who had a very similar diagnosis as mine 3-4 years ago and beat it back. He's been cancer free for two years now.

Passed along a great quote that I'm constantly reminding myself of...

"If you're going through hell...keep going"

                            W. Churchill
