I believe you misunderstand the rules, to the extent you can understand the abritrary and capricious as an organized set of principles. My post is substantively on-point with Notre Dame football. I just also happened to include my speculation as to why Mr. Vanderdoes has declined to honor his commitment to do battle against Navy for 4 years. And that speculation has nothing to do with ND's future opponents.

Now, if I had speculated that Mr. Vanderdoes was eagerly looking forward to playing M four times and is now disillusioned with ND's chickenshit ways, well, that might belong in the thread you cite.
