  • And finally #606: expanding on your argument, where is the ball when the elbow hits the ground? Does it pierce any part of the plane of the goal? If so, its a TD and a dead ball. Line up for the try.
Wrong questions…and I think this really gets to the fundamental issue here. Nobody signaled a touchdown and your questions assume that a touchdown was called. So instead of asking where the ball is when the elbow hits the ground…or does it pierce any part of the plane of the goal…you have to show that the elbow didn’t hit the ground… and that the ball did pierce the plane.

In other words, the burden is on you to overturn the on-field call. I don’t think that anyone one of you is being irrational in thinking that Taylor scored a touchdown…nor do I think that any ND fan is being irrational in saying that Taylor didn’t score a touchdown. But there is nothing conclusive to refute what was called on the field. I can assure you that if a TD was called, NDNation would be pissing and moaning bloody murder about forward progress and elbows…but with nothing conclusive to overturn. Although NDNation would only have to wait a couple minutes until we won in the 2nd OT…assuming Stanford made their PAT.

Did you play for Geesman? In 5th grade, I was ball boy under one of Geesman's disciples...Russ Radtke has grown into something of a legend himself.

I ended up playing for Chuck Lori at Ann Arbor Pioneer who was Geesman's DC for a couple years in the late 70's.

      • I don't know Mike the jury is still out on this, why not ask Lou Holtz? He obviously was workin' the instant replay booth on that one.

No, I never played football, but I went to Penn the last few years Geesman was still around.

              • Hey, I say let them play Alabama for the national title next week.

If they're really the #2 team in the country, why not settle it now? Lets have the Irish vs Bama.

Poor Kansas State.... they will be the next team to be screwed by the BCS ...

                  • Congrats, Clash. I too, thought the Sooners would run them out of the building. I'll accept credit on behalf of Denard Robinson and Al Borges for turning ND back into a national power. Ha!

                    • Well, Michigan certainly started the train moving that gave ND credibility.

                        • I was also wrong about OU. It's an Alabama/Oregon world. Number 5 on the ND side is a very good football player.

                          • Well, I can see why talent said that about Alabama and ND.

Satan and his boys are clearly at or near the top of the heap. They've earned it by shit kicking every team they've played this season. Bama is legitimately good. So is Oregon but they don't get the press or the hype of the Irish who are always going to benefit from past glory. Sort of like Michigan except there's a big difference. ND is actually pretty good because they aren't saddled with arrogant morons for coaches (not talking about Mattison) .... they knew when to get rid of thier's
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.
