  • ND/MSU is a "Locust Game"- just let swarms of them descent upon the stadium.

    • Plus, ND's been down so long it's hard to hate them as much as normal.
That is so true, I remember when me and a lot of other college football fans hated them the most. Michigan State has not allowed an Offence TD in their first 2 games and that not a fluke. If Maxwell plays well, ND has no chance and might even get blown out.

      • MSU had trouble running the ball last week, I think their game vs ND is a great test for both schools to see where they are. Comparable talent levels, each team has their issues.

        • They also both have coaches with "issues", if you ask me!

            • Very curious how that affects it's football scheduling. Who will get dropped?

              • I wouldn't be surprised if M doesn't play them as often.

What's the point? I mean -- who gives a shit if Note Dame lacrosse is part of the ACC?

                  • What concessions is ND getting in the new play - off system? Not sure that has been made public. That this news is surfacing indicates ND has defined access to a play - off berth.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

There is a news conference in an hour. ND had access to the play-off system prior to this news and I highly doubt that we did anything that would negate that...

                      • If I understand it correctly, this link should be a live stream to the news conference that includes the ACC commissioner and ND AD Jack Swarbrick.

The ACC Digital Network (ACCDN) is the official YouTube home for all of the best Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) action. Game coverage along with regular daily programming spanning across all of your favorite ACC schools.

...for all of you that are going to pretend that you don't care but will nonetheless be addicted to this issue...

God-willling, the ND and B10 will part ways in all aspects. I don't see how ND can play 5 ACC games + USC and Navy + 3 B10 teams and maintain their ostensbile desire for schedule flexibility. And that's even dropping Stanford. It ain't going to happen.

Yeah. It's a shit football conference looking for any kind of help. In exhange for 5 football games, they eat ND athletics for all other sports. Maybe they create a Pitt-Syracuse-BC-ND type pod or something for those sports, but meh, whatever.

As far as I can tell, ND is still independent in football, the one sport where they have influence, and have signed up their other irrelevant sports with the ACC. Syracuse was probably a bigger deal for the ACC.

                            • ND's 12-game schedule could be....

                              5 ACC games
                              2 military academies
                              2 Big Ten teams
                              1 USC
                              2 at large rent-a-wins

IMHO they don't need more than those 2 at large teams, because the rotation of 5 games through the ACC should already provide at least some of that. The years where those five teams include Virginia, Wake Forest, Duke, and Pitt, they can make those at-large games more interesting. On the years where you are playing Florida State or Miami (when they are good again), you can fill those two slots with the likes of Akron or Utah State. I guess the big question is whether you rotate the B1G teams or just drop one. If they drop one, I would be surprised if it is not Michigan.
