Get down to about 16 very good teams in two 8 team divisions. Play from November to March, and have Stanley awarded before the end of April.

I was wondering about that myself. I can't find anything. Makes sense to create a new balanced schedule rather than jump into the middle of the original one.

Claude Giroux has become the best player in the game, (less Crosby) and will totally dominate , especially in 50-game sprint season. If Pronger plays this season, they will be awfully tough to beat.
