  • I think the comparison of Lemieux and Thornton is apt.

    • Not a chance, Claude Lemieux was one of the greatest Playoff Hockey Players of all-time. When it mattered the most, Lemieux delivered every time under extreme pressure.

      Stanley Cup Champion (1986, 1995, 1996, 2000)

      Conn Smythe Trophy winner (1995)

      QMJHL Playoff MVP (1985)
      QMJHL First All-Star Team (1985)
      QMJHL Second All-Star Team (1984)
Inducted into Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Hall of Fame (2005)

9th all-time in Stanley Cup playoff goals with 80

      Competitor for Canada

      Ice hockey
      World Cup

      Silver 1996 Canada

      Canada Cup

      Gold 1987 Canada

      World Junior Championships

      Gold 1985 Canada

      • Yeah no matter how much you hate Lemieux, he's possibly the greatest playoff overacheiver of all time.

        • I still would have dropped the gloves with him over what he did to Kris Draper.

          • That "Team IKEA" also managed to grab a gold medal in the Olympics and has been a large part in grabbing 4 Stanley Cups.

              • Lemieux may have done well in the playoffs, but he on of the biggest pieces of shit to ever play in the NHL. By the end of it even his teammates were embarassed by him.

You left out the regular-season qualifer for that. Yep, Joe sure knows how to score when the games are meaningless. In the playoffs? Different story. Hell, in the playoffs, he has way more penalty-minutes than he does points.

Datsyuk scored as many goals during the Wings 07-08 playoff run (10 goals in 22 games) as Thornton scored in his last 7 playoffs (10 goals in 68 games)

                    • Leaving your feet to hit an opponent is a penalty too....simply another dirty and illegal play, nothing more, not sure what you have to bitch about?

                      • Hope he does it to Thornton and concusses the big pussy into next century.

                        • BTW try actually watching the play before you claim he left his feet for the hit.

From the replay it's pretty clear that the force of the hit knocked Kronwall off his feet. Both skates were on the ice when he made contact.

I guess the tough Swede was just too much for yet another pussy Canadian.

                          • I was referring to Post #219 which I think was from a few years ago, a hit on #16 Devin SETOGUCHI , Kronwall left his feet and should was guilty of charging, photographic evidence confirms this.

Not sure your point of including the Ryan Clowe hit from game 5 of this year but frankly you make little sense, as always.

                            • Huh? Post #219 is from Kronwall's hit on Danny Heatley earlier in this year's series. Also a legal hit. I'm sure you can dig up You Tube video of it if you want. Everyone had been talking about the Clowe hit (since he was the one injured) which is why I posted the video of it.

I wonder which pussy Canadian Kronwall will run over next? The Sharks seem to have no shortage of them.

                              • It is on Heatley # 15, matters not , CornHole has left his feet and should have been charged. Dirty worthless Swedes resorting to desperate goon tactics. Most of the 54 that skate in the NHL are well-pasted their prime as evidenced by their poor and embarrassing showing 5th place finish at the Olympics in Vancouver, just behind "perennial powerhouse Slovakia". Even Finland medaled with a population of just over 5 M, a national embarrassment.
