I was born and raised in the Chicago area. As such, it is a requirement to loathe all things St. Louis. And I do.

I have also grown to loathe the Preds. The attempt to keep Blackhawks fans from attending games in Nashville was so stupid it just turned me off to them. I don't have this kind of loathing for the Kings, even though they derailed Chicago's chance at a repeat in 2014. The Kings, at least from what I've seen, don't engage in dumb bush league organizational behavior.

The Pens have looked very good. I agree that they are the team to beat. While I am not a big Crosby fan, they do have Karl Haeglin to root for. He has been playing well. Luckily for him he did not fit in the Ducks system.

I pretty much hate everyone but sunbelt/expansion teams are particularly loathsome to me. Hatred for the Pens doesn't need an explanation, although I respect them as a hockey franchise. That leaves the Blues. Plus they chant "Let's Go Blues!" at their games.

The Stars weak defense and weak goalies finally caught up with them.

I can't tell if it is just my imagination, but this playoff year has some of the worst goaltending that I have seen since the dawn of the big pads/butterfly era. Lots of goals this year with goaltenders just simply getting beat on a straight up shot instead of getting hung out to dry by the defense or deked on a beatiful offensive play.

As for bounced in the 1st round, "King" Henry, 116 playoff games, a stellar 55-59 record.

Numbers don't lie, no surprise, I say it ever year.

If you don't have near rock-solid goaltending and if you can't steal a game or two, you've got nothing.

I'm usually not big on needed so called top goaltenders, but it really cost Dallas this year. Seventh time in 13 playoff games the Stars allowed at least four goals in a game. So many soft goals, Stars entered the postseason with the worst regular-season save percentage of any team in the playoffs. They ended the playoffs at .889. Lousy to say the least.

The problem now for the Stars both goalies already 32 years old, and both are signed for another year at a combined salary cap hit of $10.4 million. Will Jim Nill call Holland to try to get Howard? Probably and dumbfuck Holland will work something out in return for Niemi, you know BECAUSE he owes Nill for all his Red Wing duties.
