This was the best team that Putin and Russia could assemble, period. They had everyone that is anyone in the KHL less 4 deadbeat Russkies left floating in the SCPs.
Only 4 returning players from the Gold Medal Team from Sochi for Team Canada, all new crop of speed demons that held Russia to just 11 shots in the game! (5-1-5)
This was an incredible humiliation for Putin, Malkin, Ovechkin and Kolvalchuck....ultimate poor losers too as they left the ice before the winning national anthem.
Great to see Ovechkin eat it twice in one week!
"Whole milk, not the candy-ass 2-percent or skim milk."
Would been a different outcome if Putin was on Russia’s #1 line...just ask him.
I suppose the inside of a Gulag ain't too pretty.....like watching old people *uck, unbearable.

Vladimir was Putin on a show in Sochi this weekend. The Russian president scored eight completely legit, not-at-all-staged, worthy goals against a host of professional hockey players, including former NHL stars Pavel Bure and Valeri Kamensky. Putin's team won 18-6.

LMAO at the people who thought he would go to Buffalo. That organization fucking sucks and they have found some way of pissing away every good player that they have had in the past decade. This year's Sabres were the worst team since the lockout with their -113 goal differential.
Jesus couldn't resurrect that mess but he'll get very rich in the process. Can't fault anyone for taking a raise like that. For comparison, Joel Quenville is the highest paid coach in the league this year at $2.75. Babcock's deal will pay him an average of $6.25. So yeah, you take that job if it's in Siberia.
I like the idea of the Wings tapping Blashill from Grand Rapids to replace him. I think the timing was right for a change after 10 years and Blashill made it possible for the Red Wings to not swim in the same pool as Toronto and Buffalo. I think the deal will prove to be a winner for all parties, well not the Leafs, they'll still suck. But it's good for Babcock and the Wings.
It sounds like the Sabres are pissed, they believe he had an agreement to come there 2 days ago. He kind of did the same thing when he came to Detroit, he ruffled the Ducks feathers as well.
