  • No, Dennis, I'm not about to steal the shirt off your back.

I would imagine, you wearing it would remind one of "Where's Waldo?" (and not WMU's stadium or library, either).

Anyone else on this forum besides Dennis who is located in the Seattle area? For some reason I'm thinking he doesn't follow the NHL much; besides, he's still waiting for the triumphant return of the Seattle Pilots...
SOURCE: 'FRAMEWORK' IN PLACE FOR COYOTES LEASE AGREEMENT

      CP June 14th, 2013

PHOENIX -- A person familiar with the negotiations says a "framework" is in place for a lease agreement that would keep the NHL's Phoenix Coyotes in Arizona.

But while the person characterized the developments as positive, the Glendale City Council still must study the proposal and vote on it. The next council meeting is set for June 25 and the NHL Board of Governors meets two days later.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the proposed agreement hasn't been made public.

Representatives of the team's prospective buyer, Renaissance Sports and Entertainment, have been talking with city officials about the lease, which is crucial for the sale of the team to go through and keep it playing at the city-owned Jobing.com Arena.

The NHL has been operating the franchise since buying it out of U.S. Bankruptcy Court in 2009.

The report of a framework agreement on a lease first was reported Friday by Fox Sports Arizona.

The city has budgeted $6 million per year for managing the arena, while the prospective buyers -- who would manage the facility -- reportedly need far more than that to make it work. The sides apparently have come up with some way to bridge that gap.

NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said Wednesday that the time was coming for some decisions to be made. Either the city was going to make the necessary decisions to keep the Coyotes or the franchise would find a new home. Bettman also raised the possibility the team might just take a one-year hiatus.

"Obviously, we're getting to the point where some decisions are going to have to be made, both by the city of Glendale and by us," Bettman said before Game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals. "We haven't set a deadline, but the time is getting shorter. ... We're still focused on making it work with the Coyotes staying in Arizona."

RSE is headed by a group of Canadian investors, who have a purchase agreement with the NHL but it's contingent on reaching a lease agreement with the financially-strapped Glendale. The city figures to lose money one way or another, at least in the short term, but presumably would lose less with the Coyotes as an anchor tenant.

"This is really going to be a decision that the city of Glendale is going to have to make," Bettman said.

      • I'd guess SeattleLionsFan is blessed to live here as well.
Sorry, I get the two of you confused sometimes, Dennis. He's SeattleLionsFan, you're SeattlePilotsFan.

At my age, one gets easily confused. Surely you can identify with that!

              • Daamnnnn. I'm glad I'm not a Bruins fan, lightning strikes twice for Chicago in the final 1 1/4 minutes and the Blackhawks win the Cup. What an amazing finish. Problem is, I hate all Chicago teams, so it pains me greatly to say this was one great game.

What goes around comes around. Same thing they did to the Loafs.

To think the Wings were up 3-1, that chaps a little.

                      • Must admit that was an excellent series, although if I had my druthers both teams would have lost.

Thought Crawford should have won the Conn Smythe as he played incredible well over the entire playoffs, Kane delivered in spades over the last 2 games.

Glad to see the Boston Bruins got what they deserved, absolutely nothing.

Zdeno Chara, on for 9 of the Bruins last 10 goals against, Bust.

David Krejč?, no show for the entire Final, nice to see him fail to score in G6, crossbar & out, loved it, Bust.

Jaromir Jagr, ZERO goals the entire playoffs, that is 0-23 games, total Bust but apparently he never looked so good doing it?

Rask played incredibly well against the Rangers & Pittsburgh, he was unbeatable over the first 3 games of the final but then fell apart, Crawford bested him in the series that mattered most.

                        List of Injuries:

Bruins centre Patrice Bergeron had a broken rib, torn cartilage and muscles in his ribs and a separated shoulder, while the Blackhawks celebrated their Cup victory after Game 6 amid a litany of problems.

Bryan Bickell suffered a Grade 2 knee sprain at the end of the Western Conference final, Marian Hossa played through a bad back, Michal Handzus had hand and knee problems and Jonathan Toews got his "bell rung," according to coach Joel Quenneville.

Bickell's knee problem should have sidelined him three to four weeks, said Quenneville, who only broke up his line with Toews and Conn Smythe Trophy-winner Patrick Kane to ease pressure on the injured winger.

Bruins right-winger Jaromir Jagr was in and out of Game 6 with an undisclosed injury, and right-winger Nathan Horton dealt with a suspected shoulder injury all series. Defenceman Zdeno Chara was rendered ineffective as the final went on, but that was also because he was hurt.

                          • Corey Crawford did what Hall of Famers & former Blackhawk goalies Tony Esposito, Dominik Hasek & Eddie Balfour could not do, lead his team to Stanley Cup in goal.

2 Stanley Cups, Conn Smythe, & Gold medal for the Young Captain.
That playoff scoring drought was nearly the downfall of the Hawks but a brilliant SCF.
Scoring in G6 then setting up the tying goal at 18:44 of the 3rd, talk about delivering in the clutch!
