  • Here is another theory -

Given Larkin’s history of receiving a neck injury in a similar way, you can’t tell me that wasn’t a targeted play by Joseph. I can almost guarantee it came from higher up because taking out a team’s captain is a good way to gain ground in the standings.

    • That was some bullshit. Ottawa gets a pair of roughing minors for knocking out our captain cold on the ice with a cross check to the head. At least Perron went vigilante.

Seriously, Perron's crosscheck at Zub’s head could have been worse right after Larkin went down, that's how players are tough in today's NHL.

      • I don’t understand how a guy getting knocked cold with a crosscheck to the head is just a two minute minor.

        But I guess that’s hockey.

BTW can you imagine Crosby getting hit like that and the refs only giving out a couple of two minute minors for it? 🤣

No that's today's NHL, back when you would have to answer to that with your fists (sooner or later) - And not with a guy like Fischer, doing his team a solid. That's today's NHL, it sucks - but it's all we got if you still want to watch Hockey, Don Cherry warned us all 15 years ago about this whether you like him or not.

                • Fuck them! I’m still fuming. My initial reaction was Joseph might be done for the season or face criminal charges. Then it became a 2 minute minor?? Fuck right off.

A lot are making fun of it also No update on his status, from the Wings (after over 24 hours), might be bad, but I hope not.

                      • Larkin has been put on IR. No timetable for his return. Lalonde seemed relieved that he didn't need a stretcher considering his past injury to the same area. I would consider retiring if I were him, but that's just me. One more hit to the neck/head and it could be worse than we already know? Then again, I know nothing about how he feels, everyone is different with head injuries. I have had 2 TBI's and wouldn't listen to anyone once I recovered. A lot of Red Wing fans are pointing to the calendar for the next game with the Sens, but there will be no Darren Mccarty lacing up the skates.

I failed to mention Joseph is a repeat offender against the same player Larkin.

                        • It's insane that Perron is facing a minimum of 5 games and Joseph skated with a 2 minute roughing.
