    • Maybe not all his fault, but today was the worst day for Kenny Holland as GM of the Winged Wheel!

            • Over 9 million 3 yrs for Erickson? Just cuz you have a cap does not mean u have to spend it? You telling me 7.5 would not have kept him.

              • Mike Commodore was on a plane to southern California Friday, ready to begin off-season training, and didn't expect to be signed by any NHL team. He even tweeted he would be put on waivers by Columbus. Yes the mighty Blue Jackets! Mind boggling how he is on the Red Wings now and has said he hates Babcock.

Note: He played 20 games last year for the team in Ohio.

                • The Ericsson contract is obsene. He nearly caused me to blow a gasket in the playoffs. I was really hoping for some decent FAs. The D-man crop was/is pretty good this year.

                  • Ericsson = Keith Primeau on defense. The Wings have 0% chance at winning the Cup after today (I have never said that) unless Holland picks up someone at the trading deadline.

                    • Not nearly as big of a pussy Primeau was. Primeau was less aggressive than Willie Huber.

                      • lol Huber is going back a little to far for me to remember. Well this helps-The Red Wings have agreed to terms with defenseman Ian White on a two-year deal.

                          • RED WINGS COMPLETE COACHING STAFF

DETROIT -- The Detroit Red Wings have completed their coaching staff.
Assistant coaches Bill Peters and Jeff Blashill were hired Friday and signed three-year contracts.
Detroit coach Mike Babcock had two openings on his staff this off-season. The Ottawa Senators hired Paul MacLean in June and the Red Wings didn't re-sign Brad McCrimmon when his contract expired in May.
Peters coached the Rockford IceHogs, the Chicago Blackhawks' American Hockey League affiliate, the previous three seasons. The Three Hills, Alta., native was on Babcock's staff with the Western Hockey League's Spokane Chiefs in the late 1990s.
Blashill, from Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., led the Western Michigan Broncos last season to their first NCAA tournament since 1996.

Jets, Red Wings looking at realignment

Minnesota Wild owner Craig Leipold told a Minneapolis radio station on Monday that the Winnipeg Jets will relocate to the Western Conference's Central Division in 2012-13.
Leipold told KFAN of Minneapolis that the Wild would be in the Central Division along with Winnipeg, Chicago, St. Louis, Nashville, Dallas and possibly Columbus.
This coming season, the Jets will play in the Eastern Conference's Southeast Division with the Washington Capitals, Tampa Bay Lightning, Carolina Hurricanes and Florida Panthers.
“Our division would include the Winnipeg Jets, us, the Blues, the Nashville Predators, the Dallas Stars, Chicago Blackhawks, and maybe the Columbus Blue Jackets . . . maybe not depending on if they go east or west. I am all in favour of that. I think that is a grand slam, home run, hat trick for our team,” Leopold was quoted as saying.
“We're all Central Division now. All of our teams, except for Columbus, all of our teams will be Central Division. We'll play less teams in Canada. We will play every team home and away at least one time.”
The Detroit Red Wings - who currently play in the Central - would in all likelihood move to the Eastern Conference.
Nothing is official. The NHL's board of governors will discuss realignment when they meet in December.
