      • Before SJ chokes this game away. Nicklas Lindstrom came into one of my work accounts to talk business. So we didn't talk any sports or I would have asked him to come out of retirement, he would be the best defenseman on the Red Wings by far.

            • Well Packy, you just saw it, without goaltending you don't have much.

Martin Jones outshot 46-22 (+4 off the iron), steals the game! Jones survived an all-out blitzkrieg from the Penguins with perhaps the greatest individual performance of these playoffs.

Crosby clearly separates himself for the Conn Smythe, playing out of this world.

Pens need just one of the next two and haven't' lost back-to-back games since early January.

This Series should have ended in 5!

              • Yeah, that was an asskicking everywhere but the scoreboard. Murray can't keep giving up soft goals.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
                Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

                • Murray wasn’t nearly as sharp in the Penguins’ net as he has been all playoffs.

Murray admitted he was “a little bit jittery” at the start of the game. Just 3 bad minutes of play allowed 2 soft goals......other than that, Pens dominated for 57 of 60 minutes.

Pens played a hell of a game. If they keep playing with that heat, they will be in great shape.

The good news for the Penguins, Murray is 6-0 following losses in these playoffs.

                  • Please oh please let this be the beginning of an epic meltdown. I really want to see Cindy wailing like the girlie-man he is. It would be sweet - Finals MVP watching the Cup being hoisted without him!

                      • Sad day.

Gordie was a beast, long before professional 24/7, 365-day training.

                          • Not only was Gordie the greatest player in the game during his era, he also beat the League's toughest fighter, Lou Fontinato of the Rangers.

Poor Lou needed surgery to fix the damage in 1959. Many say the League's worst beating.

                              • RIP Mr Hockey

Though I'm to young to ever see him play, here are some accolades

Won both the Hart Trophy as the league's MVP and the Art Ross Trophy as scoring champion six times. He appeared in the NHL All-Star game 23 times, including in his final season in 1980 as a 51-year-old man. Howe was also voted as a first- or second-team All-Star 21 times in the NHL

While his scoring numbers were prolific, the violence with which Howe played is very much part of his lore. There's a reason he used to pose for pictures with fans with his elbows up in their face. He racked up 1,685 penalty minutes in the NHL. Mr. Hockey was the furthest thing from Mr. Nice Guy on the ice. That part of his game made him more than just a great player, it helped turn him into a folk hero.
