  • The Caps have scored 3 straight to tie the game 3-3. Pittsburgh aided the process by taking 3 delay of game penalties in quick succession in the 3rd period. Holtby had made some beauty saves to keep the Caps hopes alive, then they got a pair of 5 on 3 PPs that helped them tie the game. 3:39 left.

    • PP coming for Washington! Interference on Letang. He smoked Oshie before he touched the puck. 2:40 left in regulation. I'd think that the Caps need to score here if they want to steal this game.

      • Headed to OT. Pens were up 3-0 late in the 2nd.

                  • Another regular season Presidents Trophy loser. Capitals set a franchise record with 56 wins, Holtby is the presumptive Vezina Trophy winner and Ovechkin won another Rocket Richard Trophy. Last time they got past the second round is 1998 when the once mighty Red Wings destroyed them sweeping 4-0 (still last team to win back to back).

The idiots calling the game were annoyingly worried, Pierre was at a loss for words (for once in his miserable life) when Washington tied the game, and 'Doc' was nervously talking about the hockey God's more than once (possibly screwing over his beloved Pens).

                    • Ovechkin played well, much better than in previous years, most players for Washington have said that this team was the best that they have ever played on.

Problem was, they ran into the hottest team in the League since firing their coach in early December. Pittsburgh is 45-0 when leading after 2 periods and hadn't lost back-to-back games over the last 4 months. This Pens team has serious depth on all 4 lines as Malkin & Crosby were kept to just 4 pts. over 6 games.

21-year old Pens rookie Matt Murray with 12 games of NHL experience had outplayed Braden Holtby.

Conn Smythe leader out of the East, reminds me of a young rookie, Pat Roy.

                      • All that remains to be seen from Ovechkin's career is how many coaches he'll get fired.

                          • Blues taking Dallas to the woodshed on the Stars home ice game 7 - up 5 goals ha! And one goal called back. Shocking really, don't see this kinda game blowout on away ice.

It's been a long time since I hated the Blues. Not since Chris Pronged dirty head shot attempt on Stevie, then tearing his knee apart for his pleasure.

                            • The Stars weak defense and weak goalies finally caught up with them. I'm not sure what to think of the Blues yet. I hate them, so that may be clouding my judgment. I really hope the Sharks win tomorrow. A Preds Blues series would be a scum bucket hate fest for me.

                              • I don't hate the Blues. In fact, I'm rooting for them to win out. Pens will beat them in the finals, tho.
