I dare you to spend a few seconds contemplating how unwatchable the NFL would be if pass inteference was eliminated and the DBs could freely tackle the wide receivers at the line of scrimmage. Games would be ultra-conservative punt fests. That is what hockey has become. It's a fucking disaster.

I might be done with the NHL permanently. I'm back to where I was before the big lockout. Scoring is way down and I'm guessing that if you took away the empty netters, this is the lowest scoring playoff of my lifetime (without looking, I would guess that this year has already shattered the record for empty-netters. There were four in the Det-TB series alone and Minny even had two of them in one game!). I can't believe the absolutely abysmal quality of hockey being played. With the exception of Chi-Nash and Ana-Winn, the first round was one gigantic aborted fetus.

          • Hanni, it is only natural to lose a little faith and become disillusioned given your team was bumped in the 1st round....suggest the CHL playoffs or even the World Hockey Championship (Europe B Cup) in Europe?

            You want scoring?
Jump aboard the Connor McDavid Express, kid scored, 5 points last night as the Erie Otters closed out the S.S. Marie Greyhounds in OHL playoffs. McDavid has scored 19 goals, 23 assists for 42 points in 15 games including this short-handed beauty a week ago! NHL ready or what?

            CM's skills are remarkable.

....or Crosby has joined Team Canada in Europe, 4-0 Canada after one period over Germany, checkout Crosby's short-handed, goal, remarkable hands.

This marks Crosby's second ever appearance for Canada at the Worlds, with his first coming in 2006. He scored eight goals and eight assists in nine games for Canada at that tournament, earning the Best Forward award and a spot on the tournament All-Star Team. Should Crosby lead Canada to gold at the tournament - which begins Friday in the Czech Republic - he would become the fourth active Canadian to earn Triple Gold status. Triple Gold status is earned by winning Olympic and World Championship gold in addition to a Stanley Cup over a player's career. The only other active Canadian members are Eric Staal, Jonathan Toews and Patrice Bergeron.

            Speed to burn!

NHL round 2 series all duds, less Blueshirts v. Caps.
Thankfully in a losing effort, Ovie splits and scores a remarkable goal against Lundqvist. Man is a beast.

Western final Anaheim v. Chicago should be good and the Rangers v. Bolts in the East holds promise.

                    • Team USA beat Russia again at the "Worlds" 4-2! Unreal.

A young US team team with a few NHL journeymen and 5 NCAA players including Michigan's Dylin Larkin embarrassed Russia in fine fashion.

The American entry to the 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship is decidedly young. This team is comprised of five current NCAA players and thirteen players under the age of 25.

                        • No, Russia had Vezina Trophy winning Bobrovsky in net, flanked by injured 1/2 NHL season, 0 points last 10 games of RS and 0 points in 5 playoff games Malkin but suddenly well enough to play in the Worlds?

Don't forget Ilya Kovalchuk, dumped his 100M NHL contact and bolted to the KHL. Ruble is now worth nothing, most players have not been paid in months and the KHL is on the verge of collapsing, so now hopes to slither back to NJ.

                          This was huge.

Canada fresh off their 10-0 ass whooping of Jerry, cruises past host nation Czech Republic 6-3.

Last, Rangers v. Caps game #3 was incredibly exciting and I hate both teams!

                            End of two, WOW!
                            What a series.

Canada crushing all comers at the Worlds undefeated, scored 40 goals over 6 games in Pool A, broke Switzerland today, 7-2, pimped Sweden & Czech Republic too in round-robin. Closeout against mighty Austria on Tuesday.

USA in good shape at 5-1 in Pool B, pimped Russia in an upset then lost to Belarus 5-1? Anyway only 17 goals for, to date, will become a serious issue in the playoffs.

                            Connor McDavid CHL update.
Who does this kid think he is, Wayner?
                            What an amazing setup!

Somewhere in Edmonton, someone is drooling. That's because the Oilers are expected to take Connor McDavid with the first overall pick at the 2015 NHL Draft, giving management, coaches and fans a first-hand look at these kinds of ridiculous moves as soon as this fall. For his latest feat, McDavid fended off several Oshawa Generals on this end-to-end rush and fed Erie Otters teammate Remi Elie for a goal in game 1 of the OHL's final round. The assist marked McDavid's 44th point in 17 playoff games. That is not a typo.

                            • Back-to-back incredible SCP games last night. Rangers open a 4-1 early in the 3rd, only to hold on for dear life as they fend off the Caps. 4-3 Final.

Lunqvist/Holtby goaltending dual is nothing short of spectacular.

Game 7 in NYC is a Must See match.

Perry's heroics beat the Flames in OT 3-2 to clinch the series. Western Conference is set, Final-Chicago v. Anaheim as they wait for the East to settle its matches.

                              • That Rangers Caps game was boring as hell. I much prefer a 2-0 contest where the two teams spend the entire game in the neutral zone. Nothing gets me out of my seat like watching the defense force a turnover at their blue line.
