Yep. Finally got some numbers, but quality is a bit meh. But today we celebrate another year in the post-Rodriguez era! Hoke and staff have recruited well beyond my initial expectations.

I'd agree (depends how they feel about Morris likely redshirting) but you'd have to tell both QB's you are taking two and most QB's don't like to be in the same class as another.

When does Devin Gardner find out if he was permanently screwed by RR or not? That could still have influence over our QB recruiting needs.

Sam Webb mentioned in passing that Speight's California QB coach was good buddies with Borges.

He's obviously a Plan A guy. I just hope the plan wasn't a mistake.

I don't like Borges, but this coaching staff has been good at identifying talent early on. They were on Treadwell early, and on Conley and on some others.

Speaking of Talent, or Iam416, UFM goes 3 for 3 today on the "I hope we get one of these guys......" signing day crapshoot. OSU #2 on ESPN.

This is a WAG but it makes sense. I don't think M is going to apply for a redshirt for Gardner. None of us would probably agree with the reasons (shady deal by RR that we, the mighty M deciders, in our high regard for the integrity of CFB, are not going to pursue). I think the Speight deal signals that.

Furthermore, if my WAG is correct, it also signals they won't redshirt Morris. He'll get snaps and some game time in 2013 with Bellomy in the wings as the third string. That could change I suppose if Bellomy somehow remarkably rose from the stunningly bad performance he had in Lincoln.

Speight, it seems to me, is a David Cone kind of QB. He'll run the practice squad ..... unless he morphs into a Tom Brady type. But, I dont think Borges knows shit from Shinola. He thinks he does but I don't see any hard evidence that he can spot a diamond in the rough. He has one top QB that he developed in, what, 25 years of coaching? It's disturbing that he has a personal relationship with Speight's HS coach. If that is true, and Speight was signed because of it, that's just one more reason for me to want him gone at some point.
