  • Righton; thanks the explanation. Makes sense. Although at this point I want him simply because Urban Meyer does too.

    • Jenkins-Stone came in lighter than expected, might've redshirted?

Scholarship situation is still the same, M still needs attrition to sign 25 but wouldn't be too surprised if attrition pushes this class to 26 or 27, there WILL be early enrollees to make that possible...

The Norhtwestern RB commit is Godwin Igwebuike; out of Ohio (good friends with at least 1 of M's commits). He's a plan B with Derrick Green being plan A; with the injury to Toussaint they might want to take both plan A & plan B..

Conley isn't rated that high as a corner in rivals; he's a fringe CB/FS and some feel he's a better prospect as a receiver. I think he'd still be a corner for M as that is the position they initially projected him as. Only two more years of Raymon Taylor btw. He'll be a junior in '13 but Blake Countess will only be a redshirt sophomore.

      • Thanks the clarification on Taylor.

        • Igwebuike is 5' 11", 185. Sounds like Norfleet to me. We have enough smurfs. That kid Lacy from Alabama at 245, or Bell at MSU. We are looking for the new A-Train. Toussant, even when healthy, just was not the answer.

          • Not every good running back is 225+ lb's, especially in CFB where there are tons of quality backs under 200.

            • Jenkins-Stone has played. I've heard his name mentioned a few times.

              • Reon Dawson?

                Dennis Finley?

                • Finley is Dawson's (OG) plan B or could be OL #5.... Reon Dawson CB is an option I think if they strike-out on both McQuay and Conley, very possible...

Guys just offered this late are usually plan B, C types.

                  • Conley is OSU vs M, coin-flip that probably favors the Buckeyes
                    I don't think it's anywhere close to a coin-flip.

                    Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

                    • You think he's a Buckeye? I've got very, very mixed reports.

                      • I do, WM. His OV is Thursday to Friday, so we will know soon, I think.

An "insider" has said he was Buckeye and reaffirmed that 100% today. The guy isn't perfect, but he's pretty good. We will see.

                        • If the reports on how Michigan treated Conley are true on osu gameday, the only thing going in Michigan's favor I'd assume is his dad, if that part of the story is valid.

                          • According to the OSU insider closest to Conley, the father part of the story is absolutely true. He's also the most conservative. Two weeks ago he was convinced that Conley was Oregon or M (mom or dad, respectively). However, OSU has really gone after him hard according to him. And that's swayed Conley. Two random things from the insider. Conley's teammates have been up to Ann Arbor 3 separate times during the season, but Conley has never gone with them. Conley is a quiet kid who hates doing recruiting interviews (though, he'll talk off the record).

Finally, the OSU Insider I'm referencing is really well-respected in NE Ohio. The kids he's in on really trust him. Last year, when Kalis flipped, the Kalis' called him and asked him how they should handle it. He still really likes Kalis.

The story about M pulling Conley's offer after visiting for The Game isn't an OSU insider story; it's allegedly from Tom Beaver. I didn't see the post, so I can't confirm it.

Anyway, a solid OSU insider has reaffirmed that Conley is done, finished to OSU. FWIW.

Could the offer to Finley have something to do with Dawson? Perhaps they're friends and would like to be on the same team?
