  • Its an excellent class that addresses the areas of the most need.

We didn't sweep every star from the sky, but then again, I doubt that we ever will. Even the mighty Meyer and the sainted Nick didn't sweep every star from the heavens.

This is a fine class that is going to fit nicely with what we already have, and the 2013 class will be a good follow-up group behind these guys.

I can't wait to see Kalis and Pipkins in Michigan uniforms. I may have to get Jeff and Doug to come run my store for me, so I can go to Media day in August....

      • Excited to see these guys as well; hope for one last piece of good news (either Kozan or Diamond) but things obviously look promising if we can follow up with a comparable class in '13/'14.

        Interesting from AA news:

5-Stars for M the previous five years:
        2011: None
2010: Devin Gardner (now backup QB)
2009: Will Campbell (now backup DT), Justin Turner (transferred to Scottsdale Community College)
2008: Boubacar Cissoko (kicked off team, in jail)
2007: Ryan Mallett (transferred to Arkansas), Donovan Warren (left after Junior year)
Repugnant is the creature who would squander the ability to lift an eye to heaven, conscious of his fleeting time here.

        • Kozan still in play, not sending in his LOI to Iowa. Diamond is and always been a Friday decision, nothing solid on where he'll end up other than Auburn felt they had him but that isn't looking true.

          • This is where the rubber meets the road in a useful assessment of M's 2012 class .... the depth chart. It is really clear here how much M needs a C and I find it interesting that Kozan has not sent in his signed LOI to Iowa. You can bet several coaches are in his ear and one of them is Hoke, possibly some of the other recruits or current players as well.

Hoke talked numbers today in his presser (the transcript isn't up yet but will be by tonight or tomorrow). Bits and pieces of it were at Rivals Premium. The point is that M had little depth and a ton of scholarships to offer, it got some very solid players at positions of need (except center), filled up the scholarships available but could use a little more depth at OL. Kozan and Diamond still being in play is exciting but I don't think I'd be counting on either of them from the word on the street. I think the last week has put everyone watching this stuff ill at ease about saying in advance that either of these two will be Blue.

Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

I'm most excited about the linebackers in this class.

                • IMO, Kozan and Diamond are depth players, not stars. But, if you have the spots, they're worth putting the roster -- two more chances, if you will, at getting a quality interior OLman from the class.

                  Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

                  • Kozan might not just be a depth player for us. We've only got one non-senior center on the roster.

                    • Yeah, ok. I know a little about Kozan b/c, a few months ago, he was the biggest name on OSU's board. Yeah, I mean, I think he'll be a productive player. I doubt he's all-conference or anything, but he could probbably give M 2 years of solid, competent starts. JMO.

                      • Dave Molk was a 3-star. He now holds the Rimington trophy.

                        Just sayin' ....

                        • Wow. After comitting to Washington yesterday, Jordan Payton signed with UCLA today.
Tune in at 11:00, and he asks for his release and signs with Arizona ...

                          • Payton committed to USC, then Cal, then Washington, and signs with UCLA. I can't remember too many kids that committed to four different schools. I'm not sure a prospect has ever committed to five-- well, maybe Hart Lee Dykes did, back in the day, but that was just to up the bidding. Anyway, I'll look forward to another prima donna receiver attempting to match Payton's accomplishment next year.

                            • I just watched the video of Hoke's presser following the receipt of the LOI's. Brady has mastered the Bo/Lloyd method of handling the press. If you close your eyes, you can hear both of them in Hoke's voice.

Near the end, he mentions that he saw the You Tube video of Pipkins imitating his walk. He said he told Pipkins that he's in for "four years of he**". He then laughed and said he thought the imitation was pretty good.

This is a very good class for his first full year effort at Michigan.
