  • You'll get Diamond anyway. I think Garnett is better, but it's not a bad Plan B.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
    Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

    • He'll play in WA/OR twice a year so that could be a factor although I guess I'm not sure how Pac 12 divisions affects that.

Ah well, more room for the other trench guys still being courted.

      • Its not like we desperately needed him to fill a spot. He would have been a fantastic get, but its not like we come away empty-handed. We still have a fine group of OL's, and there are going to be more on the board in the '13 class that we'll want to draw in. So, I wish Garnett well. I hope he becomes a fine doctor thru Stanford Medical.

Diamond and/or Reeves would be a good finishing touch to the class. Not optimistic on Reeves, but Diamond looks more like a reality since OlieO dropped out.

I have no hard feelings toward him. Sometimes you have to follow your heart, and that's what he did. We still have a great group of OL's coming in. Probably the best we've had in over a decade. We'll be fine.
Yeah, no biggie. You can't sign them all.

              • Agreed OP. Eh, oh well, best of luck to him anyways. I had a feeling he was staying on the West coast.

                • Good point Seattle. I think the UFM hire did affect UM a lot. We will never know, but at the very least, having one staff coaching the football team and another staff on the recruiting trail helped OSU and hurt Michigan

                  • If he felt football was his future than he is an idiot, as I think Stanford is going to fall off a cliff now that Harbaugh and Luck are gone. But it will probably take a season or two for reality to hit Palo Alto, and unfortunately we haven't had enough proven success from Hoke yet to guarantee future success to kids like we used to be able to.

                    • I'm not so sure Stanford will disappear quickly---their incoming recruiting class stands at #14 currently:

                      • We'll see. Stanford has NEVER had sustained success. Yeah, things can change, but usually only when there is tons of money involved, ala Phil Knight at Oregon.

                            • Kozan to decide Sunday between Iowa & M; those in Iowa feel they've led for awhile but M might've turned up the heat after the Stacey decommit... Sam Grant down to just Oklahoma and Michigan and he's not tipping his hand on who he favors...

Armani Reeves likely to decide this weeked too but might not announce till SD (Wednesday)... Competition for Diamond is thought to be only Arkansas, he like Reeves is a coin-flip on where he decides...

Nothing new on Chris Muller OT yet. With Schiano leaving at the last minute, its possible he decides after SD.

5 recruits, 4 of them are coin-flips; M might be lucky to have 2 of them.

                              • From what I understand about Muller is that Michigan is pretty much an afterthought. Not much of a chance there. Rivals said that Muller is actually leading the pack trying to get Rutgers commits to stay with Rutgers.
