I think we would have seen more from Big Will this year if he was going to come around. But I hope I'm wrong.

M recruiting Yuri Wright, Armani Reeves & Kenneth Crawley at CB. They have just 1 verbal (Richardson) and would obviously like at least one more and I could see them taking two...
Offer list for Crawley is pretty strong and haven't seen his film/highlights yet; Wright's higher rated of all them but Reeves imo is better suited for Mattison's man-to-man defense. Wright is a terrific athlete but might need a year on special teams and as a nickel/dime corner before he's ready to play at a B10 level.

This is an interesting chart (with links). If ever an area cried out for NCAA involvement and rules enforcement, this would be it. However, too subtle of an issue for anyone in authority to clean this up:
I just saw the below table from buckys5thquarter.com, a Badgers website. They went to www.oversigning.com to calculate scholarships offered over the last 5 years. The teams oversigning have a 15 - 4 bowl record (in favor of the team who oversigns.) Interestingly, Michigan was one of only 4 schools at a competitive scholarship disadvantage to win their bowl game. The field is just tilted the wrong way, and as long as the NCAA is toothless to do anything, the SEC will continue to dominate. Winner Loser Diff Miss State 137 W Forest 94 43 Auburn 144 Virginia 108 36 OK State 133 Stanford 99 34 Tx A&M 116 NW 91 25 Florida 120 Ohio St 98 22 W Va 121 Clemson 103 18 Fl State 127 Notre D 110 17 Illinois 120 UCLA 106 14 OKLA 122 Iowa 109 13 S Carolina 130 Nebraska 118 12 Cincy 113 Vandy 102 11 Oregon 121 Wisconsin 112 9 Baylor 132 Wash 125 7 Texas 111 Cal 108 3 Mich St 116 Georgia 114 2 Missouri 124 North Car 126 -2 Arkansas 135 K State 139 -4 Michigan 112 Va Tech 122 -10 Rutgers 116 Iowa St 134 -18 This table includes only those games where both teams data are available on oversigning.com. If strict adherence to the NCAA 85/25 rule was adhered to, the maximum number of schollys would be 85 plus 25 over five years, or 110. EDIT: Don't lose sight of the forest for the trees. That is to say, obviously, there are legitimate reasons that teams have for signing more than 85 + 25, i.e., 110. Michigan had such reasons, and so did many others. And any team under 120 probably is within reason. The point is, when you start getting to 125 and beyond, you are starting to rack up a significant advantage. For instance, Alabama and LSU are at 136 & 131, respectively. This is a HUGE advantage. I hope that Brian, among others, continues to bang the drum for oversigning reform. Otherwise, teams are playing by a very different set of rules. Of course, given Hoke's magic golden poop, Michigan will continue to win, even though at a competitive disadvantage. But it shouldn't be that way. EDIT: It is worth noting that of the Big 10 teams in bowls, only Michigan State and Illinois had an advantage (in terms of oversigning.) I suppose that figures for Little Brother.Last edited by Jeff Buchanan; January 9, 2012, 10:10 AM.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

We haven't been involved with Crawley, and as I understand it, we've laid off Reeves the last couple of weeks. We've been trying to flip Fla. commit Brian Poole for months. He's listening, but hasn't shown any signs of taking the step. Finally there is current UCLA commit Marcus Rios who is supposedly waiting for an improved test score. If he gets it, we supposedly have a decent chance.

We got Amir Carlisle from them two days ago...haven't heard anything about Prater to ND though...
Apparently, USC has zero authority in granting releases due to their probation. The kids still need to sit out a year, but Troy can't keep them from transferring to ND.
Another (potential) transfer is Armond Armstead, which may include a package deal with his younger brother Arik. We've got an outside shot at least, but they're being real quiet.

This is our recruiting thread, not yours!
