Good point, Jamie. And I guarantee somebody will use that against them too.

This is a sticky topic.

M just wasn't that interested in Danny O'Brien and Tommy (?) Schutt... M was still recruiting elite DT's when they passed on those two but the coaching staff felt the needs elsewhere were more important and liked their haul of interior DL: Pipkens, Strobel, Wormley & Godin... M was still recruiting elite DE's too but were only willing to take the very best; they wanted Adolphus Washington but couldn't get him to return the interest.

Arnett will attempt to transfer to a university in M next season; according to reports close to him and his preference is M. Mixed reports on how transfers are counted by the NCAA, I've read both that they count against the max of 28 recruits and just the opposite...
Anyway, its overdue that the NCAA puts a strict rule on the amount of scholarships a program can have on signing day. This goes a long, long way to stop oversigning. Coaches can still make room for recruits previous to signing day.
re: Arnett; he'd be about perfect for M. He'd come at the perfect time ('13) and be ready to produce immediately right after Daryl Stonum & Roy Roundtree graduate. Not much in his way in front (Jerald Robinson, Jeremy Jackson, Jeremy Gallon & Drew Dileo) or behind him: Amara Darboh, Jehu Chesson.Last edited by WM Wolverine; December 30, 2011, 07:49 AM.

He ought to sue Vince Dooley. There is no NCAA restriction on kids who wish to be released from their scholarships. He's trying to enforce something of his own making. Tennessee won't suffer any sort of irreparable damage if Arnett transfers to Michigan or MSU. He ought to sue Dooley personally.
I know he probably wouldn't win, but the publicity against Dooley would be worth more than the actual verdict."in order to lead America you must love America"

I kind of agree with that, Oracle.
Dooley may be a dickwad but I'm not sure we're getting all of the story. I think there is probably more to it.Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.
