On the impact of the tressel resignation on recruiting .....

There are plenty of HS football players out there who want to play football, sure, but they also want to play at a program that will let them free wheel. Look how successful Carroll was at USC. His program was built on a free wheeling style not to mention the promise of lucrative bennies under the table (Reggie sends his thanks).

Now we find that tressel ran a program that encouraged the same kind of free wheeling that got USC in trouble. Think about this. What kind of vibe do you think pryor got on his visits to Michigan as compared to his many visits to osu? Clarett? Troy Smith? Thad Gibson?

I think Brandon has set the bar high for recruits and Hoke will carry out the mission to bring players of character to Michigan. M will get its share of talent but it will be talent with integrity; disonesty, entitlement, free wheeling among HS players will lurk but won't find there way into the Fort.

Mike Boren ..... you have demonstrated that you will never understand this.

I would say that Saint Jim's resignation hurts recruiting for MSU because there will be speculation that Dantonio might be the next head coach at tosu, but Sparty's recruiting class already sucks.

Meh. Gant sounds like a Rodriguez caliber "hybrid" type of player. Questionable speed for safety, too small for linebacker. No other Big Ten offers besides Illinois. We have a roster that is already bursting at the seems with mediocre safeties and Morgan is reportedly on board as a silent commit. That makes 14 commits (including Morgan) and we need a bare minimum of six more OL&DL. That brings us to 20, which leaves us little to no room for a second CB, an extra lineman, a QB, WR, or RB. And I'd rather have one of those than another Jordan Kovacs/Cam Gordon/Thomas Gordon/Carvin Johnson/Mike Jones/Brandon Hawthorne future special teams contributor.

Dunn is apparently still affirming his commitment to the Bucks pending the COI ... he may jettison if a bowl ban should come down.

What about other Buck recruits like Kalls? Seems like most of the others were born with scarlet in their veins.
