Please support the Forum by using the Amazon Link this Holiday Season
Amazon has started their Black Friday sales and there are some great deals to be had! As you shop this holiday season, please consider using the forum's Amazon.com link (listed in the menu as "Amazon Link") to add items to your cart and purchase them. The forum gets a small commission from every item sold.
Additionally, the forum gets a "bounty" for various offers at Amazon.com. For instance, if you sign up for a 30 day free trial of Amazon Prime, the forum will earn $3. Same if you buy a Prime membership for someone else as a gift! Trying out or purchasing an Audible membership will earn the forum a few bucks. And creating an Amazon Business account will send a $15 commission our way.
If you have an Amazon Echo, you need a free trial of Amazon Music!! We will earn $3 and it's free to you!
Your personal information is completely private, I only get a list of items that were ordered/shipped via the link, no names or locations or anything. This does not cost you anything extra and it helps offset the operating costs of this forum, which include our hosting fees and the yearly registration and licensing fees.
Stay safe and well and thank you for your participation in the Forum and for your support!! --Deborah

This is a sticky topic.

Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

Nick/Mario recruits (primarily) Left Tackles from HS (because they are often your best linemen) and tells them they they may end up as LG, RT, RG, whatever. Even center if there is a need.
Some kids only want to do LT because it's considered the 'superstar' spot and that's what they are used to."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln

No, he wants to not redshirt and not be moved from the LT spot. Not necessarily a starting role as a freshman. Just on scholarship (no redshirt) and on the three-deep somewhere as a LT."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln

That would be doable. Our OT depth chart is really bad.

The redshirt was probably manageable. I think The Nick probably assumes he's getting 3 years and, in no event, more than 4, so why bother with redshirt. The LT guarantee is problematic as is some shithead high school making demands of The Nick. THE NICK.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

If he's not LT, the odds of him leaving after three are somewhat diminished.
He really needs to RS. His footwork is not great (and that takes some time) but he makes up for it with size and strength in HS. In college, your bad feet get you beat. In HS he was able to power through. Plus, with what we had coming in on the OL, no room for a freshman you won't use for a year sitting on pine but taking a schollie."The problem with quotes on the Internet is that it is sometimes hard to verify their authenticity." -Abraham Lincoln

Why haven't we heard more about Slaton?
Four-star guard Tedarrell Slaton (Planation, Fla./American Heritage) will take the SAT Sunday. That score will determine the level of schools he can get into and allow him to start taking official visits in January....
Slaton prefers to play nose tackle. That might rekindle Michigan's pursuit if his SAT is right. Reitmaier reaffirming to Oregon and the uncertain recruitments of 4.5* UT DT Jay Tufele and 5* GA DT Aubrey Solomon could put Michigan back on the chase for a true NT.
