Rumor has it the bulldogs have taken a page out of Harbaugh's book and may hire a coach from Wilson's high school. If that's the case, it's def a no go on Wilson moving forward. Honigford and Stueber are no slouches and should compete later in their careers for playing time. One may even surprise us.

I think Talent had positive things to say on Honingford. He has a very good offer list. I think he will be a good one down the road.

Honigford is fine. The only comment that I can add that you can't see from film or his measurables is that he plays terrible competition. It's the kind of competition he should obliterate.

Losing Wilson sucks because Michigan used to be known for their O-linemen and now it's a weakness. This is why I don't understand them backing off of Aaron Banks.

That hurts. Like really badly. Especially when you factor in all of the misses and decommits on the O-line the past couple of years. We might have some elite skill players but nobody to block for them.

Exactly. What good is a great QB if he's being sacked 8 times per game? What good is a great RB if he's attacked in the backfield as soon as he touches the ball? Maybe Tyrone Wheatley will be moved to OT after all.

M is going to need some of the class of '17 OL recruits to play early; especially OT, so it'll hurt that they missed out on blue chip OL. They should land a very good but not great OL class.

I can't remember if I posted this somewhere else but I tend not to get all breathless about HS recruits. So, Wilson, meh.

But this I know. Football teams are not going to win a lot of big games unless they are winning on the DL and OL. You'll end up with a lot of 2 and 3 loss seasons and that's not going to get the team into the CFPs.

On the flip side of that sentiment is the reality that it isn't easy to project All American performance on either the OL or the DL but especially the OL. Success of these 300+ pound dudes depends to a large degree of how hard they want to work and develop their craft. Being big and good in HS has nothing to do with doing that at the college level or in the pros.

Sure, Wilson is good ..... at the HS level ..... and that might predict success going forward. It certainly doesn't hurt. The bottom line is that we're not going to know how good the OL pass protects and run blocks until we see it. I'm less inclined to believe that big dudes who are good in HS are going to be better in college. Count me not too worried about not getting Wilson.

Chuck Filiaga now supposedly announcing next week. Steve Wiltfong says we're to get 4 commits next week: Ruiz, Anthony, Singleton and......Filiaga? Hopefully. That'd make up for Wilson. Add Bekton and/or Bateman and we're good to go.
