  • It stinks, but...crootin! UM just needs to keep the commits they have and close the deal on remaining targets - Ruiz, Slaton and Filiaga.

    • How bad, exactly, is M's returning OL depth? You're not really counting on a true frosh to play?
As you have seen from the posts following your question, OL is very thin and we are talking an area where UM was not all that good this year. The idea that FSU is promoting is that OL is a strength of UM is way off. Magnuson was named the OL of the year, if that tells you anything.

I agree with Hanni. Wilson was the second most important recruit on UM's board.

      • Hmmmm. I feeling slightly less awful about OSU's chances next season in AA.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
        Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

            • Jonah Williams for Bama is a true frosh on the line. He has started all 13 games. He was a special talent, though. A 5-star outta Cali who works harder than anyone. Great kid.

This. Harbaugh ain't done with Wilson yet. Let flip season begin. It should be a wild ride from here on in considering the Army and Under Armour games are near, early enrollees, and the dead period ends on January 12th.

Ruiz tomorrow should top off a great week of recruiting.

                • It's not like Wilson was a plug n play guy. High ceiling.

                  • UM needs guys on the OL, and they might as well be 6'7" 350 lbs and can move like Wilson. Only need 6 good ones total, but the wipe-out last year meant this year was critical.

                    • Michael Onwenu, Ben Bredeson & Stephen Spanellis in '16

Grant Newsome, Jon Runyan & Nolan Ulizio in '15

                      -

M's OL class needs numbers and they'll get them if they can land those left on their board but they aren't landing the 'elite' kids you hope to land in '17; especially at the all critical OT spot. Surprised Wilson chose Georgia based on his comments but never felt he was the lock others did...

Biggest position of need is LB, Jordan Anthony and Drew Singleton are the most likely names we'll hear about and M is in great position with both.

                      • Would rather have Gay than either of them, but theyre both perfectly fine.

And I think Filiaga will have just as good a career as wilson, so he is a big need now.

                        • Willie Gay is preferred but I don't think Jordan Anthony is too far behind Willie Gay. Any new news on Gay?

                          • Not really. M leads and will probably get him if he can get his academics in order.

Edit: But it's not like taking a highly rated kid from MSU's hometown to come north will be a cakewalk.
