We were there a few weeks ago. Didn't camp at painted rocks, but should have. Took the boat ride, had a nice lunch at the bookstore cafe, and were on our way. My sister-in-law read that there had been 6 sea-kayak fatalities this year so far by June. Looking at it that day from the boat tour, those must have been completely drunken fools. There'd have been no problem kayaking along the shoreline there. Went to the Porkies instead. Nice over there, but not worth the drive. The bugs over there were insane, and not just the biters.Comment
