  • Made Ruiz' top 12! But he did list the 12 in order and M is #1. M is bolded along with #2 Alabama and #3 North Carolina.

    • Sam Webb says a commitment possible tonight.

        • this guy is a serious athlete. I have some doubts as to whether he sticks, but Carr being in town forced him to pull together. Hope we keep up ... I think his stock is going to keep rising despite already being a 4*

          • woods and dillon are likely for future upgrades to 4* status. I like Paea, but the other 3*'s committed so far especially Dunaway and the Canadian ... I think JH should have learned from last year and waited. This is a small class and we are in on too many big fish to load up now .... unless, JH is expecting a big purge/attrition this year as well.

            • I thought this class is supposed to be pretty big too? Big senior class graduating, at least.

I wonder if Kurt Taylor will be politely kicked to the curb. RB is kind of full all of a sudden.

              • I think JH wants the connection to Georgia so Taylor might skip.

WM ... how many schollies are we projecting?

                • They'll have a full class, lots of seniors. 24-26 would be my estimate.

                  • Fwiw, Samuels is drawing comparisons to a smaller AP.

Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
                      Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

                      • Playing HS in New Mexico, he's bound to get those comparisons.

                        • I will say, after reading about him(after never even hearing of him) I was expecting alot more out of his Hudl film. Looked fine, but... Also, a long time scout on the M Rivals board loves this kid and said he would be the #1 back in '16 class if he were in it. FWIW. I wonder if he'll be around on signing day.

                          • That seems like a wildly optimistic take given his early breakdown is borderline 4*.

I was tempted to be snarky about our pending wager, but THIS. Outside of McCaffrey and Ross...and probably Hall, the rest of the class could not develop as well as the better kid who wants to commit to M or develop too well and draw in-state/regional interest.

                            But, anyway....

                            • Yeah, I was going to make a comment about Harbaugh not giving 2 shits about our wager, but I'll wait and see who's around 8 months from now.

                              • Looking at the depth chart by class on mgoblog, we have a glut of big skill players+current commits who aren't seniors.

                                FB?: Shallman, Davis
                                FB: Lasater, Poggi
TE: Dunaway, Wheatley, McKeon, Eubanks, Asiasi, Gentry, Bunting, Hill

That's 12 guys for what is typically just 2-3 spots on the field. Also, if you don't include Shallman and Davis, we'll have six tailbacks on the roster next year. Gotta find a spot on defense for some of those guys. Shallman should have been on defense from day 1.
