I find Michigan fans dogging on this kid to be semi-pathetic. He was good enough to get offers from some very prestigious blue blood programs, and now he'll actually play for one of them. Maybe, just maybe, some Michigan fans around here will think that maybe Harbaugh fucking blew it and made himself look like a total asswipe here.
I don't think Bob Stoops would waste a scholarship on someone he thought wouldn't be a contribitor. And before you dog on Oklahoma, let's realize they have actually won an NC since Michigan's last one, and were in the fucking playoff last year.
Grow up people
I'm not dogging Swenson, Jack. I'm actually pleased for him. He ends up getting a jilted lover's offer from Oklahoma, which is a fine football program. With the fuss he and his coach made about Harbaugh/Michigan, you'd have thought the kid would never be able to play a single down of competitive college football. Turns out, if the kid had done what he'd been told to do, and reopen his recruitment, he might have gotten the Oklahoma offer even sooner, no pun intended.
I hope he's very happy at Oklahoma. For whatever reason, Harbaugh didn't feel he warranted a Michigan offer, and I see no reason to question Harbaugh's judgement. So far, he's been a doggone good evaluator of football talent.
Turns out, if the kid had done what he'd been told to do...
And what exactly is that Linesman? Did Jimmy call you up and fill you in on that?
It's funny how a cult leader will transform everyone's views around here. Two years ago these tactics would have been disparaged as those of the "scum of the SEC"
Fall in with the rest of the pack and drink the Kool-Aid, but don't tell me Michigan is above the fray. Integrity means nothing, but winning football games means everything. I guess you can't have both in Ann Arbor

Correct.... and that was because we didn't have a leader/coach who would do what was necessary to win. It's all we had to hang on to.
Although I wouldn't doubt that JH called Liney up to fill him in, I think his take is based on what we have seen from JH to date. Telling a kid that he expects him to continue to produce and improve through the course of his senior year (and setting specific goals for a kid) SOUNDS like exactly the type of thing JH would do. Do we know for a fact that JH did that? ... of course not, nor are we ever likely to know.
I have no issue with that.
I do have an issue with the fact that it looks like we are going to strike out on most of our hopefuls for NSD (Nordin and Murphy looks USC bound, Boss/Asiasi look UCLA bound --- Damn!!@#$%)

Okay, I won't. Instead, I'll welcome Michigan to the club of teams that see college football for what it is in 2016. It is indeed all about the scoreboard. There was ONE (1) "winner" this year, and that was the Alabama Crimson Tide. They won the national title. Everybody else LOST. Its the same way in basketball. 68 teams make the NCAA field, and EVERYBODY LOSES except ONE team. They are the "winner", and the rest are losers.
Our society today loves winners. The only way you can be a winner in CFB is to win the national title. I believe Harbaugh is working in that direction the best he knows how.
Sometimes kids don't develop. Sometimes kids develop exactly as you expect they would. And someone else better comes along. JH has had a little of each. Swenson may have been the former. There's zero doubt his "Swarm" commitments were the latter.
Also, it seems to me like Liney is saying HARBAUGH!!!! is a loser. I mean, since he's never won a national championship or Super Bowl as coach or player that would make him a loser.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]? Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

Pretty sad state of affairs we have come to here in the United States. For 18-22 year olds "winning" should mean preparing yourself for life as a productive member of society and representing your university with pride and dignity and competing to the best of your ability. I guess everyone who doesn't win a National Championship is a "loser" then? Be careful what you all have wished for

Broom at M&B is a little more optimistic.
3* Nate Johnson (Thompson's Station, Tennessee) 4* Connor Murphy (Phoenix, Arizona) 5* Rashan Gary (Paramus, New Jersey) 4* Lavert Hill (Detroit, Michigan) 3* Victor Viramontes (Norco, California) [Quarterback/Linebacker/Safety 3* Quinn Nordin (Rockford, Michigan)
"Whole milk, not the candy-ass 2-percent or skim milk."
Ummmm, you're going to get Gary. That is a grand slam if you sign no one else. So, yeah, I don't get the "striking out" thing.
Also, the Murphy reports about academics (from someone at 247, apparently) seem far-fetched. I doubt it's case and I doubt even further there will be anything other than some oddball post on some forum about it. But, we'll see.

My personal opinion is, that Jim Harbaugh is terrific college football coach. However, by today's popular standards he is considered a loser because he hasn't won anything big as has been so aptly pointed out above. My personal opinion of today's college football climate means absolutely nothing.
