      • Next big recruiting weekend is May 30th. Expect some significant names to make it to Ann Arbor, hopefully a commit or two... Then JH goes on his satellite camps in Indiana, Pennsylvania, Alabama, Florida, Texas, California till M hosts their many camps (typical camp than separate QB and kicking) back in Ann Arbor in mid June, that'll be a big recruiting week too...

Quite a few recruits on M's board are pretty close to a decision; Ben Brederon OT, Terrance Davis OG, trio of NJ receivers (Mitchell, Stewart and Hawkins)... Ron Johnson DE goes to the same high school as Hawkins WR and are a potential package deal, currently favoring the Wolverines vs uSC...

Jonathan Jones LB will be in AA in June and will be on commit watch when he is... Jones or any LB taking a spot could push up others timetables a bit but M is recruiting LB'ers from all over Texas, Florida, California, Colorado, etc. and those guys need to visit AA first before a decision could be made though some already have...

Xavier Kelly DE/LB is another likely June visitor, his recruitment has blown up in terms of new offers and his ranking (imo he's a top 75 talent) will shoot up too. M is believed to be his current leader but he's recently been racking up offers from Bama, Clemson, Oklahoma and many others.

Kiante Enis ATH/RB/WR/CB felt the M offer was a really special one. He's an underrated athlete and wouldn't shock me if he jumps at the M offer when he visits AA...

M's recruiting class will develop a lot in the month of June. I'd expect a handful of commits in June to build momentum for the national recruits from Texas, California, Florida, Jersey, etc. to hopefully visit in July.

        • Somewhat replying to a response in the Sparty discussion...

M has a big recruiting month ahead, starting with Will Fries OL visit today. M likes him more than his rating (strong 3*) and M would accept a commitment from him. Rumor from insiders that talked to those close to him claim he 'might' commit this weekend...

M also has at least two linebacker recruits visiting in June in which they lead or are a close second for. Jonathan Jones (4*, Fla), Devin Bush Jr. (4*, Fla)... M already has Dele Harding and seems to be willing to take 4 or even 5 LB's in this class...

Kiante Enis ATH (3*, Ind) is visiting on May 30th. He's probably not going to jump at the M offer like some insiders believed that talked to him when he first received the M offer. Partly because a lot of other programs like ND, MSU have offered and expect more offers to come in as well...

Donald Stewart WR (NJ) is a possible commit when (or shortly after) he visits on May 30th. 247's crystal ball has 8 crystal balls for the Wolverines and nobody else with a crystal ball. He could help build M's Paramus Catholic pipeline. He's Rashan Gary's teammate and of course, former teammate of Jabrill Peppers...

Ben Brederson OT (5*, Wis) is down to mostly just M and Wisconsin and seems ready to make up his mind between the two. Mixed reports on him delaying a visit in early May till this upcoming weekend, a bigger recruiting weekend for M. Very mixed reports on M's odds, ranging to Wisky lock to M being a favorite, basically means he's a coin flip to me...

Pittsburgh commit, Tony Butler (3*, Lakewood OH) is a M vs Ohio battle. He's rumored to be a Buckeye if the Buckeyes offer or a Wolverine if they don't... Another committed prospect (Miami), Devin Gil S (3*, Fla) is visiting, the big recruiting weekend of June 14th. Possible UM vs UM battle...

Expect a handful of local/in-state recruits to make last minute decisions to visit for the big recruiting weekend in mid-June which will be more critical for the '17 class as the '16 class. In short, I expect a big next 4-5 weeks for M recruiting the class of '16. 5+ commits very possible.

          • Not much free time to write much but its a significant recruiting weekend. A few visitors are making it that made last minute plans...

I'd expect at least a commit and probably two to come from this weekend. The weekend after all the satellite camps is a bigger recruiting weekend with more national recruits coming to Ann Arbor.

            • Sounds like Chris Evans RB/ATH (3*, Ind) received his offer this past weekend and should end up a Wolverine when he decides on June 6th.

              • Sounds like an OL(most likely Brederson or Onwenu) has committed and will be announcing soon. Either one would be very welcome and I think eventually both are Blue.

                  • Bredeson supposedly down to ND or M with Wisky not out of it, his brother plays baseball for M. He's been 'close' to a decision for a bit so I'd guess he's the one... Onwenu has always strongly favored M but was looking at his other options recently...

Chris Evans RB/ATH (3*, IN) expected to announce for M on Saturday.

I watched his video on Huddl and he's got a real knack for making people miss. I was reminded of Vince Young in watching him. He looks like he's running so effortlessly, yet nobody can catch or tackle him.

                      • The scouting report on Evans says Norfleet 2.0. Bleh.

                        • He's a lot bigger than Norfleet.

                          Go look at his video.

Talk about it in The Fort
Michigan has its seventh commitment in the Class of 2016, and it's a big one - literally and figuratively. Detroit Cass Tech 2016 offensive lineman Michael Onwenu has pulled the trigger on the Maize and Blue.

Onwenu is a 6-4, 368-pounder ranked the No. 171 overall prospect in the nation. The massive athlete is capable of playing on the offensive or defensive line. Michigan has recruited him as an offensive guard, the position he's most comfortable with due to more experience at the high school level. He is a road-grader with more mobility than many expect given his mass.

Onwenu's pledge gives the Wolverines two Rivals250 offensive linemen in the 2016 class, as he joins Downers Grove (Ill.) South tackle Erik Swenson in the group. With seven commitments, Michigan's class is up to No. 24 nationally, just ahead of Auburn.
