  • His father played for Bo, academically he is a true Student- Athlete. Not the OSU horseshit and the infamous Urban Meyer Degree to Nowhere.

    Trust The Harbaugh.

Coby Fleener, Zach Ertz, Levine Toilolo and Jim Dray were all selected, and all four are still on NFL rosters. Former Stanford tight end/fullback Konrad Reuland was also still in the NFL last season, albeit on a practice squad.

    • Expect NFL Machine Inc. to add Robert Washington soon.

Robert Washington, a four-star running back from Huntersville, N.C., will reveal his college choice on Saturday at 3 p.m., and Michigan is one of six finalists.

The other finalists are Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, Syracuse, Texas Christian and Washington.
Washington (5-10, 215 pounds), rated the No. 21 running back in the nation for 2016 by Scout.com.

      Of Michigan, Washington told McAllister:

"Coach Harbaugh knows how to produce a pro back. Produce a pro period. When they first came in, they started recruiting me hard. I talked to Coach Harbaugh on the phone maybe four or five times. He just told me I'm one of their big prizes and I'm the No. 1 guy on their board. So that made me feel special coming from a guy like Coach Harbaugh."

      • I didn't think NFL Machine, Inc would settle for Washington. Shrewd move by the best coach in the sport to hold back for better options.

          • Well, to be fair, they're already stacked in the backfield as is. If they're going to add another it has to be something better than this Washington kid.

            • Kid is waco.

First committed to Florida then a 1/2 hour later switched to Sayracuse but still intends to take his six offical visits to other schools?

              • Nobody should let him have a paid official visit if he's committed to another school.

                • So when does The Harbaugh Effect start resulting in recruits of value committing to the program? :|

I'd say lets see how his recruits perform in a few games before we consider his recruiting efforts a failure. Winning breeds winning. When he starts putting together a few impressive victories, they will notice.

                        • When's the last time M has had sustained success? '97 - '06, even then Lloyd always managed to lose an OOC game in September, always mismanaged another game he had little business losing and was regularly out coached by Tressel...

M is coming off a 5-win season, it's tough to sell recruits that they'll be playing for championships when M hasn't been anywhere near that level since '06, just a year away from a decade...

There is a good number of recruits who are going to take their official visits, this class' quality will be determined a good share by the success on the field and those recruits who decide late who want to see M prove they are building a potential contender.

                          • Nick Saban built the #1 class in the country immediately following a 6-6 season. At the time, Alabama hadn't been competitive nationally for over a decade. And Charlie Weis managed to pull in Top 10 classes even after his teams completely went to shit. Immediately following the 3-9 season where Notre Dame had no offense, he pulled in 3 five stars and 16 four star guys. At that time, ND hadn't won a bowl game in an astounding 14 years.

If you want to impress me, you don't need six years to build your program and land a Top 10 recruiting class. Christ I'm not asking for the fucking world here. But we're already in RichRod/Beilein "stars don't matter" Sweet Lemon Rationalization mode and Harbaugh hasn't even been in the job for six months. We're offering kids now who weren't even starters on their high school team.

                            • I side with Hannibal's surly pragmatism. M is M. JH is JH. The allure ought to be there. As I've noted, Coach Hoke landed the #6 class in his first full recruiting cycle.

However, I also think the only thing about JH that remains uncertain to me is his ability to recruit. His player development and coaching stuff is certain in my mind. But, he's never really had to recruit on THIS level. His Stanford classes were generally slightly above-average for the P12.

I'd certainly bet on him recruiting well at Michigan, but that's still a bit of mystery in my book. I think Rashan Gary will be an interesting test case. He's done everything he can possibly do within the NCAA rules to get him. But he's in for a battle with some southern schools.

                              • Is anyone saying six years? I'm not. When I say the kids will come when he starts winning, I mean within this recruiting cycle. I don't know that he's going to start pulling 5-stars with regularity this year, but from next year, yes.
