  • But its accurate.

At the very least, Meyer and his staff were not completely forthcoming with Weber. They wanted to keep him from Michigan and Harbaugh, so the led him to believe this position coach was staying. They used the kid as a pawn.

It doesn't matter to me. I think we're fine at RB the way we are. Isaac and Green were top RB's coming out of HS, and the kid we got should be a contributor soon.

    • It's funny because Weber said he committed to OSU because JH lied to him about taking one back. LOL. In any event, if a HC wants to behave like a teenage girl, so be it. It's a little like Grenada firing shots at the US. Heh.

FYI, Buchanan, I think the LOI includes language about committing to the school not to a coach.

      • This is another good reason to have athletes in the revenue producing sports (football and b-ball) unionize. The inequality of power that exists after NSD with the school having all the advantage, if nothing else, violates the 13th amendment to the Constitution which prohibits involuntary servitude.

For example, in Michigan, a buyer of a home with a valid purchase agreement cannot be forced to purchase the home because that has been determined to be involuntary servitude. Lots of financial recourse, but he can't be made to buy. Involuntary servitude casts a wider net than most realize.

There would be all kinds of theories to challenge a LOI, but the best is that its terms are unconstitutional. Mike Weber needs to say that he will not voluntarily play for OSU, and then OSU, at best, releases him but he still loses a year of training for his chosen profession. I think a Detroit judge would enjoin the NCAA, let Weber play, and litigate the imbalance of power and monopoly issues viz the NCAA. And it is about time.

If any threats were made about pulling Alabi's scholarship (like was intimated on 11W), now you are talking blackmail. I suspect Wilcher knows whether that happened.

        • As it turns out, Alabi was looking to go elsewhere. UFM has to keep him in the game.

Weber wants to play for OSU. Everything is fine. Well, Wilcher is butthurt, and so his JH. But, heh, gnats and such.

            • College football lends itself to slappiness.

Harbaugh was a prick today. Reflection of the pigsty Michigan can no longer afford not to wade in. It was unproffessional but a lot of fun if you're a slappy with absolutely zero objectivity.

Meyer is probably a much bigger prick but our resident Ohio fan will never budge on that so he just deflects.

              • Can "no longer afford to"? What will happen if Harbaugh continues to tweet cryptically? The horror!!!!

                • I would really hate for the highest paid employee of the university of Michigan to act like a grown man. Again, it's not realistic but I don't have to pretend it's great either.

But please, don't let me stop the homer parade.
