  • That's awesome! Who's Shelton Johnson?

    • 4* DE that chose us over Flordia State. Geez, do I have to do everything around here? 6', 5", 220, Delray Beach, FL. Durkin visited him on Jan. 31. Looks like his contacts in Florida and the south could pay off nicely. Looking forward to what these guys can do with a full year to work with.

      • I heard we got Wheatley, too. Huge coup! Lol

        • At least I know who Wheatley is. He's the son of a guy I've actually seen play football before.

Of course that is due to a severely low number of recruits, but top 10 still won't be able to happen this year. If I were UM I'd be happy finishing top 30, ecstatic with top 20.
Pretty much what I thought. Just a hair outside the top 30 at 35 (Van Jefferson only potential guy left I think, so may go up), but otherwise can't ask for much more. Landing a couple guys that you were very close on may have cracked into the top 20. That would have been phenomenal given where it was. 35 gets the job done IMO. Look for top 10 next year.

Edit: Van stuck with Ole Miss. So that 35th ranking is locked in. Unless I'm forgetting someone.

            • I care far less about this class than hoke's prized 2013 class that's actually going to be asked to carry its own weight this season.

              • Johnson and Wheatley seem like nice last minute pick-ups. As long as we don't finish 7th or 8th in the damn conference or whatever they were a couple hours ago. I'll take a class of 14 this year if it means they can sign 25 next year and really make a mark. Win and they will come.

Not being coached by a retarded fuck clown is a good start toward that end.

                  • But didn't get Van Jefferson.

                    So summary:
Wheatley, Johnson, & Higdon are all signing day commits... who are all good players according to their ranking. Higdon was one of Iowa's best before he flipped.

Loss on Clark, Weber, Jefferson, and certainly Marshall.

                      • Two nice pickups at the end, but I was hoping for Clark and Jefferson today.

                            • Wheatley signing at least means that the third act of the play was tolerable for Mrs. Lincoln.

                              • 20th in average star rating at rivals (can't imagine too much variance)... Not great quality but you aren't going to be ranked very high with such a tiny class, not to mention so little time for the new staff to recruit.
