  • Possible/projected class

    Cole 4*
    Malzone 4*
    David 2*
    Kinnel 4*
    Newsome 4*
    Runyan, Jr. 3*

    Gentry 4*
    Wheatley 4*
    Clark 4*
    Jones 3*
DB to be named later -- maybe Arnette? 3*
    Another guy -- 3*

12 guys with an average rating of 3.5 stars would be a decent class, I guess.

    • I would think JH will win pretty big within 2 years. MSU is going to lose Cook for 2016 and Ohio State will lose gads of talent after next season. It seems to me to be a really good opportunity for M.

      Hanni:

Your class is would be 3.67 stars. I'm not sure how a kicker is a 4*, but whatever.
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
      Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

      • Mistake on my part. I meant to write 2* (now fixed)

        • Hanni:

Boy, would I take that class in a heartbeat. I just don't see virtually everything breaking UM's way though. The key is Gentry. I don't think we get Clark, and I'm not sure that is a bad thing. We really need a top flight LB too.

Loops above made the point that UM is lucky that this was to be a small class anyway. OTOH, it was to be a class where only absolute top talent was targeted.

          • I don't see Gentry as a key, although he sounds like a great prospect. JH should and will either way target a top QB for '16. I do see Marshall as a key, though. Him plus Peppers, Lewis and any other chump with a pulse looks like it could be an absolutely murderous secondary. Especially if Dymonte Thomas was correctly evaluated and the new staff can figure out what to do with him. (Including possibly moving him to RB.)

            • I would love to see the ranking of the class that decommited.

                    • Twitter starting to light up with very good news.

Zach Gentry has flipped to Michigan.

                      • More Gentry news:

Sources are saying Gentry committed to Michigan during halftime of the basketball game.

Still waiting for confirmation from Gentry himself.

                        • Reliable outlets are reporting it and were as much expecting it.

                          • What do you think, WM?

Good flip, or basically symbolic only?

                            • QB is a significant concern of mine as its the most critical position on the field. I wasn't overly enthused about any of Morris, Speight or Malzone... This addresses that by adding depth and talent at a position of need.

                              • 2 QB classes aren't idea but was needed as there will be attrition unless Morris wins the job, which I don't expect to happen.
