    • The question for me has been when not if.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

      • Mark Schlissel couldn't state it any clearer, if the Michigan program had been wining Dave Brandon would still have a job and we wouldn't be having this press briefing today.

He gets it, that is why Hoke MUST be fired today and a national search started tomorrow and for long as it takes. Name an interim coach now (Mattison/Nussmeier), and flip every stone in football and flip them again if necessary, by a selection committee led by the new AD.

The current cash cow and filled stadium will not survive a 3rd terrible hire. There are plenty of good NFL & College football coaches out there, open the purse strings and make it happen.

Hoke will be dismissed the Monday after the season ends, the pressure will be on to make a big name coaching hire.

          • ESPN says rumor is that Michigan is targeting Northwestern's AD. I wonder if that could bring Fitzgerald into play as HC

            • Can't see it.

              • I hope not

Fitzgerald isn't exactly tearing it up at NW.

                • Fitzgerald would be a disapointing hire.

                        • with the uncertaintly in Hoke's future, it's not surprising. Those who committed to play for Michigan will stay (unless the new coaches scheme doesn't match them), but those who committed to this staff will look. Any coaching transition = disappointing recruiting year

                          • The problem with that is that M isn't much to commit to at the moment. You'd have to grow up a lifelong, devoted M fan to hold your commitment to a program that has been 46-41 with one bowl win and zero championships in the past 7 years. That's not much to hang your hat on in order to ignore the coaching staff -- the folks who charged with developing you as a player for the next 4-5 years.

They're down to 8 recruits. Of those 8, Chris Clark is gone, Brian Cole is sure looking around and Mike Weber may even have a looksy.

The single positive for M in this debacle of a year is that the recruiting class was going to be really tight on numbers anyway. Better to shit the bed with a class size of 15 than 25.

                            Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

                            • I'm a lifelong M fan, and if I was a big time recruit I'd have trouble committing if I really wanted a chance to play on Sundays.
