We all expected this type of thing. And honestly , who can blame the kids and their parents after seeing this season in general and this week in particular play out? UM's athletic department looks like hot garbage.
This is why the new hire has to be a dynamic one. Its got to be a guy who can come in and bail out the recruiting process immediately. He has to grab kids' attention right away and make them want to come to Michigan to be a part of his program. Sort of like the urban myth did at OlieO.
And if he is currently coaching, he has to be willing to NOT coach his team in a bowl. UM needs a head coach right now, mainly for recruiting like Liney says.
Funny how things work out. Alabama did everything they could to get RR to leave WV and come be their head coach. Settled on Saban. Arizona just beat Oregon.
If someone comparable to Matteson had been the DC, who knows.
Rodriguez's kryptonite was that he did not have Jeff Casteel with him. I'm convinced of that. Rodriguez is a "offense" guy, and Casteel is the guy who actually understands the 3-3-5, and how to coach it. Rodriguez tried to find DC's who could coach it, but couldn't find one. You have to play defense in the B1G.
I might have thought that too, but what Bacon uncovered in 3 and Out convinced me that RR's just a bad coach. Or, was one at Michigan. No attention to detail or required authority.
He's undefeated and has just beaten the nation's "glamour" team two times in a row. He's in the running for a playoff berth, especially with so many teams biting the dust today.
C'mon Liney, Arizona is a national title contender? Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. Sure the win at O was impressive, but upsets happen, especially in the Pac-12 for some odd reason.
Their other wins were against UNLV, Tex-San Antonio, Nevada, and Cal (at home) by 4.
They'll lose to both UCLA and Utah, and prolly ASU as well.
Repugnant is the creature who would squander the ability to lift an eye to heaven, conscious of his fleeting time here.
