So now that Hand is gone, is there another player to fall back on? Or were all the eggs in the Handbasket?

UM Football Recruiting - by WM Wolverine

This is a sticky topic.

It's the shitty Michigan football malaise all over again. Recruiting is tanking and the team is a pile of shit. I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for Hoke for the way that he gave us a one year reprieve, but now it's back to the same old story.
It's only a matter of time before we get a few big decommits and Mgoapologists are trying to convince themesleves that our 3* laden 2015 class is underrated and that star rankings don't mean anything after all, because our coaches are going after "system" guys and diamonds in the rough.Last edited by Hannibal; November 14, 2013, 01:34 PM.

With the right coaching, 3 and 4 star guys can win games.
Right now, we don't have the right coaching. We're right back where we were in Rich Rod's Year 3. A coaching staff that can't identify the problems, and couldn't fix them if they DID know ..."The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, .. I'd worn them for weeks, and they needed the air"

The Hand commitment to Saban/UA is a symptom of a very sick patient. The Michigan football program.
Depending on how you count this, M is headed for a 5 or 10 year period of irrelevance. I'm betting on ten. That is because Brandon will not have a clue of what the loss of elite talent to a national power like Alabama means. I don't need to tell anyone here what it means.
BTW, Florence, Italy is great. Everyone of you should see Michelangelo's David. It gives you some appreciation of how stupid it is to waste anymore time on M football.
AreviderciMission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

I'm just going with the averages, Hack.
He won't stay a full 4 years at Alabama. He'll likely leave early. That's where the 2-3 years comes from.
As a DL in the NFL, he's got a decent chance of playing 5-6 years, or until his knees give out, given the NFL"s penchant for low blocking against D-linemen.
So, 2-3 years at Bama, followed by about 5 years in the NFL sounds right to me.
And I don't think he'll get an engineering degree at Bama in the 2-3 years he will be there."The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, .. I'd worn them for weeks, and they needed the air"

And, he'd be about the same with those odds had he chosen Michigan, although I think he'd have a better foundation for pursuing an engineering degree following an NFL stint had he chosen Michigan."The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, .. I'd worn them for weeks, and they needed the air"

As a result of this afternoon's loss, Michigan offers 3* RB Vic Enwere (ranked the #47 RB in the country by rivals) and 3* DE Jhonny Williams (ranked #18 in the state of Michigan by rivals). Let the sweet lemon rationalization commence.Last edited by Hannibal; November 14, 2013, 02:19 PM.

Liney, two things. 1. College football players can't enter the NFL draft until they are 3 years removed from high school so the earliest they can turn pro is after their junior year. 2. The engineering degree is a smokescreen and can't possibly be taken seriously. He will never, EVER, enroll in the college of engineering at Alabama. He may declare it as his major while he takes his general ed requirements for two years but he'll have essentially two duties at Alabama: Play football, remain eligible. Incidentally, the same two duties he'd have at Michigan or any other major program in the country.

Understood, Mike.
I thought players could enter the NFL after 2 years. My bad.
My thought about the engineering degree was that if he actually enrolled in Michigan's engineering program, he would have at least established a good foundation for a return to school following a brief NFL career, had he chosen to do so. I don't know where Alabama's engineering program ranks, but I have to believe Michigan's is better."The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, ..
