  • The Solution is to add a top level team in the WEST though that is easier said than done.
2012 Detroit Lions Draft: 1) Cordy Glenn G , 2) Brandon Taylor S, 3) Sean Spence olb, 4) Joe Adams WR/KR, 5) Matt McCants OT, 7a) B.J. Coleman QB 7b) Kewshan Martin WR

    • B1G expansion is dead till all these GOR's expires, not to mention the LHN. Big XII GOR is 2025 I think with the LHN lasting through 2031. I don't think Texas gives up the LHN so in the meantime, it would be nice if there were a solution to the B1G's east-west balance.

      • If you swap Penn State and Purdue, the awfulness of Purdue might level out the divisions.

        • Well, how about this. Our fight song has the phrase "...champions of the west." in it. Simple honesty in advertising means we should move to the west.

Seriously, I think that the two blue-bloods, Ohio and UM, should be separated in order to set up a championship game that is worthy of the name. Plus, it might solve the problem with playing Ohio and MSU both at home one year and away the next. Having Notre Dame on the schedule would help in this regard.

I simply don't see anything magical with playing Ohio or MSU every year, and I never have. The best times for each school (UM and OSU) were in the days of the Big Two and Little Eight. Set it up right and we could have those games again.

            F#*K OHIO!!!

You're not only an amazingly beautiful man, but you're the greatest football mind to ever exist. <-- Jeffy Shittypants actually posted this. I knew he was in love with me.

Well when you get around 2023 the buyouts on GOR become a lot more feasible. Considering the B1G (and the BTN too) makes a lot more per team than what the Longhorns are getting for their fiefdom. Now the question would be if it makes sense to deal with UT political BS or not. I would guess probably not.

Now Delaney is rumored to be retire in 2020, so it might be up to another commish. Kansas is right there and makes a good bit of sense IF you have another big fish with them. That would have to be either Texas/Notre Dame.

                  • The B10 East should be compelling every season. I like it.

There is no more expansion in the B10's future. It certainly won't be Texas.

Hudson is a an SDE. I'm not sure what that equates to in Don Brown's defense -- I think it's Chris Wormley. But, he should end up strong enough to play the run with enough edge speed to be a pass rusher
Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
                    Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

                    • Read something about Hudson switching over to OL as a possibility.

Ha! I read it here! Thanks Hack!

Flip spartie and Purdue, it works better geographically since they're both on the border of the divide. spartie becomes Michigan's "protected rival" and the West is a little more competitive. spartie would probably love this as well, at least in the short-term. I'm sure at some point, Nebraska will start carrying their weight.

                          • Back to recruiting, I kind of thought there would be more of an instant-effect from the BBQ. At least one more commit, if not two.

Ah yes, this is the answer I was looking for.
The Penn State geography factor bothered me from my original post.
