  • "I'm not blaming Jim Harbaugh," Saban said. "I'm just saying it's bad for college football.

"Jim Harbaugh can do whatever he wants to do, I'm not saying anything bad about him. If he thinks that's what's best. There needs to be somebody that looks out for what's best for the game, not what's best for the Big Ten or not what's best for the SEC or not what's best for Jim Harbaugh, but what's best for the game of college football."

    • Well, I have to take Nick Saban at his word that he wants what's best for CFB as a whole. LOL.

      • Saban has no issues with oversigning, cutting kids off scholarships, forcing players on medical hardships or looking the other way when his athletes are driving Chrysler 300's/Charger's but having Universities travel to them for camps isn't good for college football.

        • that whole rant was hilarious. so he's basically saying all this trash about the camps and how its just a form of recruiting. Around the 3:00 mark he talks about HIS camps for 30 seconds, basically saying that his camps are just to help develop young men into better players to improve the game out of the goodness of his heart. Then he throws that little diddy about "Well yes we have some prospects at those camps and yes we get a look at them to evaluate them... but that's not how we look at those camps."

lol.. so you're saying you're a hypocrite and that's basically recruiting doing exactly what you're talking trash about? mmmmmm k
          F#*K OHIO!!!

You're not only an amazingly beautiful man, but you're the greatest football mind to ever exist. <-- Jeffy Shittypants actually posted this. I knew he was in love with me.

          • I'm not sure he fully understands the ramifications of his college football commissioner proposal unless he wants it to be Mike Slive.

            • I hate media and how they twist and turn shit. Yes these camps are all about recruiting and we all know it, but just watching the media types trying to get their quotes is pitiful.

Saban runs a powerhouse. If I'm the top dog why in the F#*K would I be concerned with teams that can't measure up.

              • Because they aren't the only powerhouse and they know they need to keep the talent in the southeast in the SEC to remain the top college football conference...

The better Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Nebraska, Wisconsin, & Michigan State are, the more the B1G takes ratings/money/power from the SEC.

"Amazing" to me- Alabama broke NCAA rules & now their HC is lecturing us on the possibility of rules being broken at camps. Truly "amazing."

                    • I don't think it's the media's fault for Saban's tirade. He wasn't provoked into that.

                        • maybe Talent will come to the Nick's defense, but I thought Satan's tirade was pathetic. 'Bama is killing it on the 'crootin' trail. Harbaugh is no threat to Satan. Even if he steals a few recruits from SEC-land, it only hurts 'Bama's SEC competition, if even that. No impact whatsoever on the likes of 'Bama or O-state.

No reason to say anything, and it only gave JH an in to tweet about the 'Bama recruiting violations which would have otherwise been buried by the press/ESPN.

Nick wants to sit in his plush office in Tuscaloosa and have all the 5-stars in the land come knocking on his door, and then line them up, and decide which ones he really wants. Those he doesn't want, he'd rather see them have no scholarship at all, rather than go someplace like Michigan with Harbaugh.

I think The Nick is especially concerned (nervous?) that Harbaugh and his staff is every bit as good at evaluating talent as his staff is. When Harbaugh comes into Alabama and finds a 3-4 star kid and offers him a scholly, Nick starts wondering if he missed something.

He really doesn't need to worry. As long as the SEC protects their schools' recruiting practices, and the NCAA ignores (protects) them, they have nothing to worry about. They can continue to sign, then cut, to their hearts' desire.

                            • exactly... Nick has nothing to worry about ... he babbles on, and ultimately reveals that his big beef is that these camps are all about recruiting. He keeps reeling in the #1 or #2 class year after year --- to borrow from Mark Dantonio --- "where's the threat?"

The threat is in change. Saban doesn't want anything to change about college football because he is so successful right where he's at. Change may mean an end to his run or more work. Change is bad for ol'Saban and he is making it known.
