  • Nick Eubanks TE supposedly LOVED his visit...

We'll get some hints how the S&C is going come Spring practice.

    • I like Stewart more than his recruiting rankings but he's just not near fast or athletic enough to be a 4-star or all that close to one. He is nearly 6'4", has great hands, long arms and is great at pulling down balls when closely defended. His limited athletic ability hurts his versatility in terms of playing a position other than receiver.

      • Mgoblog likes him as the "hybrid space player" on defense.

          • Hopefully not Stewart. Some recent info says Nate Johnson may stick which might push out Stewart and Young.

As far as what it means for tight end recruiting in this class, well, it's probably over. Chase Allen was thought to be a lock a few weeks ago, but appears headed elsewhere with the commitment of Eubanks.

Devin Asiasi is still in the mix, but the staff views him more as a true athlete than a tight end. This should not affect him at all.

4-Star rated by ESPN, Rivals. 247 (3-star Scout,) also listed as a halfback, hopefully Assiasi lands the TE spot under Harbaugh....they've got to have a contingency plan for this?

                  • More highly rated than Chase Allen. # 9 TE. Allen was # 23

I don't think this kills it for the Bossman and Asiasi. They need a DT and JH has been converting players to TE to beef up the position, Consider also that Wheatly may have grown himself out of the position if he is up to 280 as reported. Man, would I like to get the CA pair. Eubanks is not heavy. I'd like another Funchess.

                    • Is Alex Gentry a QB or TE? Tyrone Wheatley Jr. a TE, OL or DL? Is Chase Winovich a LB or LB?

If most of those aren't in favor of TE, M might be able to take a 3rd TE in this class. Unlikely but possible.

                      • I think Dytarious is not going to make it academically.
I think we have enough WR's ... would be good for NJ to head elswhere.

A finish of Gary, Hill, C. Murphy, Nordin, Asiasi, and the Boss ... best we can hope for.

                          • What's it going to take to keep Nate Johnson from pledging on NSD?

                            Miami is perfect for him.
