They want their Plan Bs locked down. Then they'll cull as needed when needed. As opposed to recruiting a kid as a Plan B and calling him up from the minors at the 11th hour.
The former strikes me as unnecessary because I think most coaches can figure out which kids they can put on the Plan B route and which ones they'll have to take or risk losing. It'll be interesting to see if JH plots a course for 2017 that is different from what he has done at Stanford and M.
I'm far more curious to see how they get down to 88 by NLOID.Dan Patrick: What was your reaction to [Urban Meyer being hired]?
Brady Hoke: You know.....not....good.

I believe it is plausible that JH underestimated how well UM would do in recruiting, particularly in NJ. Certainly the 2015 class he "assembled" would not have given him confidence. He certainly targeted NJ this year, and I believe he has said that he is going to target GA next year.

Weed was issue with Cole, allegedly of course...
Scout said there is a hard limit of 30 that M is up against... 28 on signing day, limit of 25 plus 3 with attrition you can count for. Not sure where the extra 2 come from, early enrollees is about the only possibility...
85 is really what they are up against but there is still expected to be quite a bit more attrition.

Glad to see Harbaugh bring Michigan into the 21st century of college recruiting, NCAA doesn't like it? Fix it.
It's often said, sausage making is a messy business most wouldn't eat the end result if they've witnessed the process.
Hack might be the exception, doubt he has ever met a sausage that he didn't like."Whole milk, not the candy-ass 2-percent or skim milk."

Also Webb says Tagaloa & Asaisi picking up steam.
A poster on the 247 board has information very similar to Sam's*: word around De La Salle is that Bossiasi is telling people Michigan is the pick. DOTMAN, a mod there, also suggested Asiasi is trending to Michigan. Circumstantial evidence: Tagaloa cancelled a midweek visit to Cal, and Asiasi is not going to Alabama."Whole milk, not the candy-ass 2-percent or skim milk."
