  • Yeah, those trade-offs are negligible when it comes to rankings. McDoom adds less than 1 point to your total.

Gary is the recruit that gets the number up -- he's worth 10+ points even with a huge class. I guess if you could, in effect, purge Dytarious and get Price, that'd be a 4ish point jump.

But, I'm trying to stay in the realm of likely. Gary, Nordin and Hudson are for sure. Then you add in 2-4 others depending on how many kids are cut or decommit.

    • aside from bragging rights, all these point differentials are meaningless.

M will have a pretty decent class in the end, and probably better than most early prognosticators including our own Talent had predicted.

If Harbaugh can land a few more classes (smaller numbers, but similar on the top end) of this ilk, he will have what he needs to mold a championship team if in fact he is capable of doing so. I think he is.

      • That 2012 class had a lot of decent players in it.
        2016 will surely be great.

        • Next year will probably be a monster class too(numbers and rankings, relatively speaking).

          • It needs to be a comeback year for recruiting in Michigan and Ohio.

            • Should be, depending on definition of comeback. Early o/u I'd put at about 10 combined from those states.

              • I think M will get, at most, 3 from Ohio. Personally, I think it will be 2. I don't think they're interested in Ajian. I think they've offered the 2 they want. I'm not sure they'll get Richardson, but I think Davis is basically the same player, so I think they'll eventually offer him if they haven't already.

I think they get Bowden and Davis.

Can't really speak to M in-state. I assume they actually want Hall. I also assume that the other kid could easily be purged. I've heard Thomas is an MSU lean or something. So, assuming they sweep the kids they want after that, it looks 6-7 in-state. But, like I said, I have no idea how serious they are about some of the in-state kids

                • Now that Harbaugh is the king of the 'maybe' do you think some of these people have changed their minds.

                  ironic.

This was posted about yesterday. Matt Colburn, a 3-star RB from South Carolina, committed to Louisville 8 months ago and shut down his recruiting. On the eve of NSD, Petrino rescinded the scholarship offer when it became clear that they had gotten more commitments than they had scholarships. Colburn's coach is understandable furious and has now banned Petrino from recruiting his high school ever again. He thinks others may follow suit. http://247sports.com/Bolt/Bobby-Petrino-Louisville-banned-from-recruiting-SC-high-school-35338663 I hope more coaches do this. A high school coach's job is to protect his kids, and rescinding a scholarship offer is one of the most damaging developments that can happen; especially when you have been committed for awhile and haven't looked at other schools. Furthermore, this is a way to hold the schmucks of the recruiting world accountable. The best football high schools are a sort of life-line for these coaches; continually pumping out talented prospects. Cut off that life-line and maybe these coaches will change their behavior.

                  "liar"
"can't understand how ANY coach would do that"
"it's despicable and makes me sick"

chuckle worthy. By the way, I don't give a rat's ass what Harbaugh does ... the real entertainment value is watching the slappy's justify what they know to be wrong and feed of the slop that guys like Webb dole out.

PS ... I would never compare the people on this board (sans 1) with MGOBLUE.

It's not fair to compare any team to the Steelers. ;)

See ya, Nate Johnson. You're free to take visits, decommit, whatever. Not that you ever had any intention of attending Michigan anyway...
