I like what I'm reading about David Long. A very good cover guy, and a playmaker. This is an exciting time for M football recruiting.

I'm really glad that Harbaugh's recruiting turned out to be HARBAUGH!! and not RICHROD!!, which is exactly how it looked about seven months ago. I said at that time that unless Harbaugh went full Saban, this class was going to be shit. And I was right.

The one thing I don't understand about the Onwenu situation is what took Sparty so long to offer him. He's highly rated, and he's from Detroit.

There have been whispers about Swenson for awhile but none concerning Onwenu.

There is 11 minutes of film of Spanellis on Scout.

Talent is right. Own it. This happens when a kid is recruited by one coach who is replaced by a new coach.

And, I might add, that JH has been in the news a lot. When you have that, a negative story will have more interest. I choose having our coach being a matter of national interest rather than the opposite.

The Swenson situation won't necessarily be seen as negative by recruits. It signals that Harbaugh is serious about winning. Saban, Meyer and Miles have had their criticism, but I don't see them suffering on the recruiting front.

That's why I'm asking. Talent is probably correct on the situation but the timing of the offer is weird. I would have thought they didn't offer him because he was a lock for Michigan.

I think that's why they didn't offer him, Froot.

I think the offer and visit signal interest on Onwenu's part. As I said, M folks think there's no realistic way he flips.

FYI, M offered Javonte Richardson this week. He's a 2017 WR from the Cleveland area. Really solid prospect and almost certain to NOT get an OSU offer. I've heard Sparty would be in a really good position if they push on him. He's definitely Justin Layne caliber.

The other 2017 kid they offered -- an athlete/QB from Warren -- would probably commit to M if they push.

In general, Ohio State is super-tight for 2017 and basically have verbals from all the Ohio kids they want except Jaylen Harris, who they should get. There are probably at least half a dozen other kids in Ohio that are legit. Danny Davis is another WR that will play in the B10. I really like Michael Warren, too, a RB that is a UK verbal for now. I think Warren could be a really solid B10 RB.

Anywho...there's my 2017 Ohio update as it relates to M (and Sparty, I suppose)....
