  • Even if they don't start, they'll get PT... There isn't much behind senior Van Bergen & Mike Martin...

    • I'm thinking next weekend in his spare time would be good.

      • Like after he's done mowing the front yard.

        • Nice get at CB.

He was one of the planned visitors this weekend.
Mission to CFB's National Championship accomplished. But the shine on the NC Trophy is embarrassingly wearing off. It's M B-Ball ..... or hockey or volley ball or name your college sport favorite time ...... until next year.

            • I am guessing the rumor was not substantiated. This was JRB's post:

It looks as if Michigan's landed Yuri Wright, assuming TomVH's Twitter report is accurate. Wright is currently ranked by Rivals as the #51 prospect in the 2012 class.

              • Did that tweet get erased? I can't find any evidence of it.

                • I never found evidence of it...

I hope to have a few recruiting updates this week as my workload is softening.

                  • I didn't see any yakking on Rivals about it. Seems like if there was a commitment, there would at least be some talk on there about it.

                    • I only heard it as a response to it on twitter.

                      • Some recruiting updates... Official visitor list of '12 recruits for ND game (not including numerous commits):

                        * Jordan Payton WR (4*), Greg Gamon RB (4* - maybe), Zach Banner OL (4*)...

Haven't updated the recruiting board for some, some movement there...

I'd probably put Greg Garmon RB back on the board with NC's troubles who was his alleged front runner. They aren't in strong position but official visits can move you up someones board really quickly... Bri'onte Dunn RB still is up in the air on his status till the NCAA hands down their punishments, right now he's a Buckeye unless OSU gets significant penalties. If Ohio gets hit hard, M and PSU benefit the most... Wes Brown is another running back M could benefit from other schools 'issues' as he was once thought to be a strong Miami lean. If he takes an official to M, M has a solid chance there...

Monty Madaris (3*) is probably a plan B after the others on this list though not far behind in talent. Hasn't setup officials yet, probably will take visits in December, January and make a late decision after M is pretty much filled... Jordan Payton WR (4*) showing high interest in Wolverines. He's a blue chipper with whom M will compete with the big boys; Oklahoma, Florida, Cal, PSU. He's a favorite of mine and on my wish list...

Dwayne Stanford WR (4*); M has been trending southward on his list this summer with other schools catching up and passing the Wolverines. Official visits have a way of sorting things out and IF and when he takes an official visit to Ann Arbor, we'll know a lot more about where he and M stand... Amara Darbor WR (4*), another favorite of mine. Like his talent, skill level and disappointed he couldn't make it to the Western game. He's got his other four officials all setup and is might have trouble fitting one into his schedule on a gameday. That hurts M's chance but M was in a strong position before he canceled the trip to the Western game...

Darius Powe WR (3.5*) doesn't have an offer (one source of many says he does) but has M in his top 3, right now he's on the outside looking in until he gets an offer... Jehu Chesson WR (3*), like Powe probably a step-down in talent from the higher rated guys on the board. Not quite as athletic as some of the 4-stars but has an awfully solid offer list with Missouri, Miami, Florida, Stanford, NW and others offering...

Last spot on the OL likely belongs to one of Zach Banner, Jordan Diamond & Josh Garnett... All are blue chip OL, top 100 type overall recruits; all are 'fringe' guards/tackles; guys capable of playing both but arguably best suited at guard. Talent level of all three is very high, M would take any of them and I'd like to even see them take a 2nd among these 3 if they want to.

                        • Defensively there are really only two positions to focus on and only 3 recruits; most of them were very familiar of:

                          Danny O'Brien DT (4*), Yuri Wright CB (5*) & Elijah Schumate S (4*)...

They'd take at most 2 defenders and most likely will end up with just one. O'Brien is the most likely, those who talk with O'Brien seem to believe M is in the drivers seat and should stay there. He's going to wait to announce for awhile (at one of the January senior games I think) so that gives other schools to make up ground but its believed M is pretty solid with O'Brien...

Yuri Wright exploded on M's radar after he showed significant interest in M, after M started looking for a 5th defensive back in this class. The need for a 5th DB was believed to be because of Terry Richardson was looking around, which might've been the case but isn't an issue anymore. I've felt that the issue was more that the coaching staff didn't have the confidence in Anthony Standifer remaining at cornerback and they wanted another true cornerback in this class; this after he performed to less than expectations at junior camps against top 250 overall type WR's...

Elijah Shumate has been on-and-off my recruiting board for much of his recruitment just as we've fallen in-and-out of his top group. Recently listed a top group of ND, Oklahoma, M, GT, Rutgers & SC. He's going to be one where we'll have to hear what he says about each school after each official visit to know where M stands. Unsure how serious M is going to go after him, they'd obviously like him but Yuri Wright is probably higher on their board and I can't see them taking a 6th DB with the other needs.

                          • FWIW, Sam Webb is very optimistic about Darboh. "Gut feel" territory.

                            • Need to get him to Ann Arbor for an official, he's one I have high hopes for. Payton & Darboh would be a great WR class.

                              • Potential 5-star Dymonte Thomas ATH (safety) commits to M!

Class of '13 could be special.
